We 🧡 Dance: NPHS IB and Intermediate Dance Students Teach Elementary Students
On Friday, October 27th our Newbury Park High School's IB and Intermediate dance students visited our Walnut, Cypress and Banyan Elementary Schools to teach TK-5 graders some spooktacular Halloween dances. Our NPHS students modeling their love of dance to younger students is an annual tradition that keeps growing. In the CVUSD, we are committed to arts education - including dance and we are so proud of our older students for shining a light on the positive impact dance can make!
Inclusion, Engagement & Fun: The Annual Unified Bocce Games Return
Throughout the school year, three Unified Sports League Tournaments take place, and this past Friday, October 27th the first tournament: Unified Sports Bocce, took place at Thousand Oaks High School. Unified Sports joins students with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. At all three comprehensive high schools, the Unified Teams are comprised of approximately half Athletes, and half Unified Partners. Each school has developed a unique model of stewardship for their Unified Sports Leagues with Special Education teachers, Adapted Physical Education teachers, and a variety of staff members, lending support to the teams.
Congratulations to all of this year's Bocce tournament participants on a great display of sportsmanship and skill! Click here to learn more.
