PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
It is hard to believe that first semester came to a close on Friday (1/26). Teachers and support staff have been working diligently to ensure students success and will continue to provide additional support for students who might be struggling.
This is a reminder that 2nd quarter grades will be available to parents on Friday, February 9th. If you have questions about your child's progress, please contact their teacher who will be happy to answer your questions.
COUNSELING INFORMATION
Grades 9-11
Counselors have been meeting 1:1 with students since the beginning of January and ending before February break. Students should be prepared with ideas for classes they plan to take next school year. Counselors will review status toward graduation and requirements, as well as discuss students future career plans. These thoughtful conversations and student course requests lead to the Master Schedule being created. Changes made after these meetings (specifically after the end of the year) may not be able to be honored due to class sizes and staffing availability.
Students will be receiving a calendar invitation in their Outlook accounts for their meetings.
Please take time to review the course catalog in the Counseling Newsletter to browse the extensive list of comprehensive offerings available to students!
ASSEMBLY EXPERIENCES
The IHS Music Department is excited to welcome Devin Holloway. Devin, star of the Broadway Case of Ain't Too Proud will be at IHS for an assembly on Friday, February 2nd.
DIVERSITY IN HEALTHCARE ~ WHY REPRESENTATION MATTERS
Mr. Connor, Board of Education Member is sharing his professional experience on Friday, February 9th through a panel presentation and then as part of our Future Fridays. Mr. Connor has organized and will participate in a panel discussion with Black Healthcare Professionals about Health Care Careers for Students of Color. Students will be able to attend the assembly with their class and then ask questions of our panelists in the Commons.

YEARBOOKS

PHYSICAL EXAMS
NYS requires all students in grades 9 and 11 to have a current health exam on file in the health office. If you have not yet turned one in, please do so. If you don't have means to have a health exam with your pediatrician, contact the health office and we will schedule one with the district doctor. Exams can be Faxed to 585-336-8294. If you have any questions, please call the health office at 585-336-2938.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Daily attendance and attendance to every class is important for students to remain connected and to learn. As the weather turns colder, we will open our foyer for students to wait until 7:30am. Breakfast is served from 7:30am-8am in our large cafeteria. Late arrivals have access to a breakfast cart in the foyer between 8am-8:30am.
Period 1 class begins at 8am. If students arrive after 8am, they need to sign in at our Attendance Office.
Below is a link that shares what you can do to help your child prioritize attendance to school.
STAY INFORMED AND CONNECTED
Remain informed and access information through the use of our Parent Tab on our IHS Homepage (click on this link to access). You will find information regarding newsletters, calendars, time schedule, health information, IHS Clubs, Yearbook information and more.
INFINITE CAMPUS PARENT PORTAL
You can view your student's attendance, in progress grades, assignments and more using the Parent Portal through Infinite Campus. Click here.
SAFE SCHOOL HELPLINE
If you see something, say something!
Please encourage students to report any concerns to an adult at school in addition to sharing with you. If your child wishes to remain anonymous but would like to report a concern, encourage them to complete the Safe School Helpline form using the link below or through the app. Reporting with as many factual details as possible will help our administrators follow up with individuals in a timely manner. Thank you for continuing to support a positive school climate.
