UES PTO 2022
A letter from the UES PTO Co-Presidents
Dear UE Community,
We wanted to begin this note with a heartfelt THANK YOU.
Since mid-February, PTO volunteers have worked tirelessly to plan and execute the SpringFest Fun Fair & Online Auction. The help and generosity of our committees, parents, teachers and our community partners is what made these fundraising events possible.
On Friday, April 1 we were able to host our first big in person event at the school in over two years - and it was a HUGE success! UE welcomed hundreds of students and their families to the grounds where they were met with games, music & dancing, arts & crafts, firetrucks & tractors, a hayride, animals, food and SO MUCH FUN!
It was seriously windy, and we dodged some raindrops during set up that fortunately didn't stick around for long, but none of that stopped the fun. We had over 100 volunteers throughout the day that helped to set up, staff games, the ticket booth, and the food tent, and helped to clean up. THANK YOU to our PTO Fun Fest Committee and to all of the volunteers. It was a joy to see all of the kids smiling and playing together and we truly could not have done it without you.
Our total gross profit from the event, including ticket, spirit wear & spring bulb sales, was $6,966!
Running tandem to the Fun Fair was the SpringFest Online Auction, which offered 100 items to bid on, and included our always popular themed classroom baskets, the coveted teacher experiences plus SO MANY ITEMS donated by local businesses. THANK YOU to the PTO Online Auction Committee and to those that donated items to help to make our auction a massive success.
Our total gross profit from the online auction, was $11,100! Just unreal!!
So where does all of this money go? Money raised will fund educational enrichment, art and social programs, and help to support student success. It all goes back to the school, and our students and their teachers.
A sampling of some of the fun stuff the UES PTO has done this year:
- Assemblies (Magician Joe Romano, and a BMX Assembly scheduled in June!)
- Grade Level Parties (4th Grade Skating Party, 5th Grade Celebration)
- Grade Level Events (K-2 Reading Celebration, 3rd Grade Reading Celebration)
- Teacher Subsidies (for use for classroom supplies)
- Enrichment Grants (an inline skating program for 2nd-5th grade, classroom iPads, items for free play, classroom enhancements, etc.)
- Field Trip Assistance (fuel subsidies to offset costs)
- Teacher Appreciation (coffee & pastries during conferences, etc.)
- And SO MUCH MORE!
Want more information about what we do, how we do it, or how you can get involved? Email us at uespto@ucfsd.net or join us at our last PTO meeting of this school year on Thursday, May 5 at 7pm.
Sincerely,
Vanessa Thompson & Olivia Moore

PSSA Hall Monitors
Looking for an easy way to volunteer?
We are in need of hall monitors during PSSA testing. Bring a cup of coffee and a magazine and enjoy some quiet time :)
Please help if you are able...very little commitment and super easy! Report to the office in the morning and get your assigned location. Testing is usually over and you can leave by 11:30am.
UE Lost and Found
Missing anything?
We have quite a few jackets, sweaters, coats, water bottles, hats and gloves in the UES lost and found.
The lost and found is now located in the school lobby so parents can look for missing items when they come to school. If you think one of your child's items might be in the lost and found, feel free to stop by to see what we have.
Please call the school at 610-347-1700 or email uesattendance@ucfsd.net to claim an item.
Please check out our Flyer Board for all enrichment, sports and creativity programs. Stay on top of the latest and greatest opportunities school district has to offer beyond PTO updates!
