The NWEA Research posted an article on the Covid-19 Slide: What summer learning loss can tell us about the potential impact of school closures on student academic achievement. In the article, the researchers showcase how the summer slide affects the learning growth of students in the 3rd-8th grade for both Math and Reading. The Covid-19 slide is going to have a drastic effect on the retention of content, especially for Math. Their predictions showcase that a student might lose one whole year's worth of math concepts by the fall of 2020.
