Marching Band Competition at Stevenson University

St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ parents are asked to complete the Federal Impact Aid Survey every school year. The school system receives federal grant funds to operate and maintain the schools for federally connected students. To receive these federal funds, the United States Department of Education (USDE) requires the school system to survey each student. The Federal Impact Aid Survey window will be open until Monday, November 14, 2022. It is important to complete the survey through the student’s Home Access Center Account.

Steps to complete the form:

• Sign in to the Home Access Center (HAC) and find the Impact Aid Form
• Once logged in, directions to access the online form can be found HERE.
• A video with instructions is available HERE.
• The form can now be accessed in Spanish by clicking on the Globe in the top right-hand corner once the form has been started.
• The deadline for the online submission of Impact Aid Program Survey forms is November 14, 2022.

SMCPS is looking to get nominations to recognize our awesome cafeteria workers from school-based staff, students, and parents. Each month, a name will be drawn from the nominations to grant a one member of the cafeteria staff the Golden Spatula Award.

• The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered to 10th and 11th grade students on October 12, 2022 beginning at 8:00 am.

• The PSAT 8/9 will be administered to 9th grade students on October 12, 2022 --- beginning at 8:00 am.

• The PSAT is an important test. Students who perform well could earn college scholarships (11 grade).

• PSAT student guides will be distributed to students (for 10th and 11th grade students only, there are no hard copies for 9th graders). These guides contain information and sample test questions that will help students prepare for the PSAT.

• Parents/Students should check their calendars for appointments already scheduled for October 12, and consider rescheduling as there are no make-up dates for the PSAT.

• Students who arrive late to school will not be permitted to take the test.

• Students who did not get a guide can access a student guide using the following links:

There will be a cap and gown meeting Tuesday, October 4, during 2nd period. Students MUST report to 2nd period BEFORE going to the meeting.

Senior Portraits

Class of 2023, it is time for senior portraits!

Legacy Studios will be here on Monday, September 26; Tuesday, October 18; Wednesday, October 19; Thursday, October 20; Thursday, November 3; and Friday, November 4 in the auditorium. Seniors MUST sign up for an appointment by clicking HERE. Appointments must be made 48 hours in advance. Information about the different portrait sessions available can be found on the Legacy site. Please note that Legacy does provide the tux, drape, and cap and gown for portraits. Seniors, if you wish to be included in the senior section of the yearbook, you must take a picture in a tux or drape with a blue background and no props. Portraits that do not meet this requirement will not be included in the senior section of the yearbook.

Fall Team Pictures

Athletes and marching band members who were photographed the last few weeks will have the chance to purchase team and/or individual pictures. Please visit the Legacy website and use code 4572E23. Please note that pictures will not be posted until about a week following the picture date to allow for editing and uploading. We appreciate your patience!

2021-2022 Yearbooks

The 2022 yearbooks are here! Students may pick up their yearbooks during lunch in 2E08. If you are a 2022 graduate of LHS, you or someone you designate may pick up your book during regular hours (8:00-2:45) to retrieve your book. Please email Mrs. Page before you plan on picking up your book to ensure that it is in the office waiting for you.

We are in need of pictures for some of our spreads! Click here for specifics regarding what pictures we still need. Please upload pictures directly to our Yearbook website using ReplayIt. Please do not submit screenshots of pictures or pictures with filters. Please make sure all students featured in the pictures are identified with first and last name and grade level. Please make sure that the pictures are from this summer and this school year!

Counselors are now able to process transcripts requests through Naviance. Please contact your counselor if you need additional information. Counselors will be giving senior class presentations this week (October 4th, 5th and 6th). During this presentation we will review what you need to know about graduation requirements, applying for college, scholarships and much more. After the presentations conclude we will share the presentation with everyone. Any senior, who is attending CSM for English please come to the auditorium on October 6th during 2nd period.

If you need a letter of recommendation from your school counselor, please use this link, Student Recommendation Request, make a copy of this google document and then share it with your counselor once you have completed it. Please include a resume as well to your counselor. Counselors are not included in your teacher recommendations for common applications, our letters are considered “Counselor Evaluations.”

Service Academy and ROTC Personal Fitness Assessments

Congratulations on your decision and good luck in your pursuit to serve. To best serve you, we will hold a PFA day at Leonardtown High School on Friday, October 21st (early release day). Warm-up and check-in will begin at 1pm in the Main Gym. This will be the only opportunity for the PFA this fall. Candidates are asked to bring with them a hard copy of the scoring sheet and their candidate ID#. Upon completion it is asked that all candidates leave LHS and not congregate in the parking lot or common areas. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Raley at waraley@smcps.org. Want to use the gym during lunch? Daily completion of the form above is a requirement for entry. Submissions are accepted from 8 to 11 am. You have to use your SMCPS login to access the form. After your initial submission, save the link for quick and easy access. Only fifty students are permitted to sign up for a lunch block (either A or B). Students are expected to enter the gym through the side door adjacent to the girls locker room and be in the gym before the 10 minute bell. Students unlawfully tardy will be redirected to the cafeteria. Students are expected to remain in the gym, no food or drink is allowed and you must have tennis shoes to be on the gym surface.

Bus Passes:

Bus passes should only be requested when students have a change in physical address or when there is an emergency situation and a student needs to ride a different bus or get off at a different stop. Bus passes will not be granted for students simply wanting to go visit with a friend.

Need to obtain a bus pass?

Parents can write a note or send an email to Ms. Revis at btrevis@smcps.org in order to request a bus pass. All relevant information must be included in the written request.

Bus Information includes: Student name, address, parent phone number, existing bus stop to be used, bus #, date, medical concerns, destination address, destination phone # and reason for the pass

New for 2022, families have the option to pay for lost or damaged resources in My School Bucks. A resource can include: library books, laptops, chargers, textbooks, consumables, etc.

When a media specialist marks anything as lost or damaged in Destiny, that fee AUTOMATICALLY shows up as a "real time fee" in My School Bucks.
