Farewell Mrs Chadwick and Mrs Pearce
Pene is retiring from education after over 40 years service. Pene has been with us as our Reading Recovery Teacher for the past 18 months. We valued the time Pene has been with us working with children to advance their skills in Reading. Pene has built great relationships with both staff and students during her time here. We wish Pene all the very best for he years ahead.
Taryn came to us for early childhood teaching and has added value in many areas of primary teaching. Taryn is a skilled practitioner in the classroom, has expertise and flair in both elearning, te reo and environmental areas of our curriculum. We are grateful to Taryn for sharing her knowledge and passions whilst in both the Panitahi and Pouakai Teams. We wish Taryn all the very best with her future endeavours within the field of education.

Pouàkai Procedural Writing
"We have been learning how to do procedural writing. It's when you have to write about something in order to do something."Nonoi.
"We watched a Youtube video about 'How to make a sandwich. It was really funny because the Dad kept following the instructions, but they instructions weren't specific enough so it made him do silly things and they failed often."Zaidyn.
Here are a few examples of our writing and some photos of us testing out each other's instructions.
Come check out our display for more in our Pouàkai Collaborative.
