Congrats To Our Read-a-Thon Winners!
Our Bears got to see just how "stuck" on reading we are during this past week's school wide meeting. During our school Read-a-Thon in the fall, the Bears read over 133,000 minutes and raised over $7,700! Way to go!
Because the Bears met our Reading & Fundraising Goals, Principal Binford & PTO Co-President Kelly Schmidt were duct-taped to the gym wall to show their support for the kids' achievements. Watch a quick time-lapse video of the duct-taping below.
All students who participated in the read-a-thon were awarded small prizes, including water bottles, sling sacks, spirit tags and more. Our top readers for each class helped our PTO volunteers with securing the duct tape. The whole school enjoyed seeing them "hanging around" as they participated in the afternoon's meeting. The top readers and fundraisers for each grade were entered into raffles to win some special prizes.
Congratulations to the following winners:
- Kindle Fire Tablet for Top Reader Raffle - Isaac H. (Ms. McNulty's Class)
- Kindle Fire Tablet for Top Fundraiser Raffle - Jack F. (Mrs. Shomers' Class)
- Principal for a Day - Janini S. (Mrs. Shomers' Class)
