Introducing Our 2nd Grade Team

Miss Alison Minegar is in her 7th year in education. All seven years of her experience have been at Elsie Rogers Elementary School. She has taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. Miss Minegar went through PHM schools herself, and is happy to be serving the community that she grew up in. Outside of school she teaches dance at Legacy Dance Studio and is the assistant coach of the Penn High School Competitive Dance Team.

Mrs. Kathy Martinczak has been a teacher at Elsie Rogers for 16 years. She has taught in 4th, 5th, 3rd and 2nd grades. Before she was a teacher, Mrs. Martinczak was an accountant. Math is still her favorite subject. She is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend and Goshen College. Outside of school, she has a husband and two sons. She also enjoys her two granddaughters and the family dog named Ava.

Miss Nicole Nasco is starting her second year teaching 2nd grade at Elsie Rogers. Before she was at P-H-M she taught three years of Kindergarten and two years of 3rd grade in the states of Michigan and Ohio. Miss Nasco graduated from Western Michigan University in 2015 with her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She also just recently graduated in April of 2022 with her Master's degree in K-12 Administration. Miss Nasco has an English Bulldog named Lucy. In her free time, she loves to work out and spend time with friends and family.

Welcome to P-H-M Homecoming Week!

Mark your calendars for the PHM Silver Mile Homecoming Weekend! This exciting two-day event, will take place on Friday, September 23 & Saturday, September 24 at Penn High School.

The fun starts at 5:00pm on Friday, with a BRAND NEW Homecoming Parade, the St. Joseph Health System’s Health Fair, a Fun Zone with inflatables and food trucks, a silent auction and more. Then stay for kick-off when the Penn Kingsmen battle the Marian Knights in the 2022 Homecoming Game. PHM students K-5 enter free with paying adult.

The fun continues at 8:30am on Saturday morning with the Silver Mile Run for Education. Register to participate in the popular timed 5K or the 1-mile Fun Walk. Registration is $10/student & $20/adult for Timed 5K or $10/per person for 1-mile Fun Walk. Register online at phmef.org

This event is the perfect way to kick off fall and will give our PHM families a chance to reconnect and strengthen our PHM community. We hope to see you there!

During All Lunches our Ambassador Team will be selling waterbottle stickers and smartphone sling grips. Each item will be $1.00. The profits made from the sticker sale will support the dram club for set and costume design. The profit made from the sling grips will go back to the PHMEF for grant purposes. Elsie Rogers has reeped the benefits of several grant opportunities: Secret Stories for students in K-2, drama club production materials, art club materials plus many more!
