SENIORS--- Complete FAFSA by March 1!
For seniors to remain eligible for the TN Promise scholarship, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid ) must be completed by March 1. Please visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to start the process.
Viewing Grade Cards
- Check your email. Last Friday, you received an email from Maryville Virtual School <noreply@maryville-schools.org> with the grade card as an attachment. Click on the link at the bottom of the email. On a phone, it should just open. On a computer, it should download as a file in the bottom left corner. If you do not see this email, please check your Clutter and make sure that the address above is not blocked or on your Junk Mail list. If you have multiple students at MVS, sometimes the first grade card email goes through, and the second email is marked as Clutter by your email system.
- Login to your parent PowerSchool account on a computer. Your student’s Q2 Report Card is saved with in PowerSchool and can be viewed using the account you created for yourself. Go to https://ps.maryvillecityschools.k12.tn.us/public and login. Click on Student Reports on the left menu bar and click on the Archived Report called 22-23 Q2 Report Card.
- Ask your student to login to PowerSchool on their laptop. Students can also access their grade card through their PowerSchool login. Students access PowerSchool by going to Login, logging into ClassLink, and clicking on PowerSchool- Students. Click on Student Reports on the left menu bar and click on the Archived Report called 22-23 Q2 Report Card.
- Ask your student to check their email. Your student was also emailed the grade card. They can follow the directions above to open and view it, as well.
Reminders---
Weekly Progress Reports by Email
Each week, we will be sending out a weekly progress report with current grades and attendance. This is the same information you can get by logging into the PowerSchool parent portal, but hopefully it will just be a simple reminder of your child's progress. If you want to see specific assignment grades, you may still login to PowerSchool. If you have a question about a grade or have an attendance question, please reach out to the teacher via email.
Cell Phone Policy
We are instituting a new cell phone policy for students who are invited in to MVS to work on assignments or to take assessments. Students may bring their cell phones with them to MVS, but cell phones need to stay stowed away out of site in back backs or pockets. Any exceptions to this will be handled by the teacher in the room, which could include contacting a parent for pick up or listen to music through headphones while working (unless the work is something that needs to be listened to). Students who do not follow this policy will be asked to place their phone the teacher's desk or to work from home.
Need ACT Practice?
As a MVS student, you have access to an ACT Review tool within ClassLink! You can choose the subject you want to study and the score range that you are shooting for. Or you can enter your last ACT scores, and the software will create an individualized plan just for you!
To access this ACT Review practice, login to ClassLink through the Login app, and then click on iXL, Skill Plans, Test Prep, and ACT.
