Welcome back Gaels!

Tonight is the home opener for Friday Night Lights! The Roxbury Gaels will take on the Golden Eagles of Morris Knolls in a Super Football Conference Divisional matchup at 7 p.m. Tickets for the 2023 season are $5 for adults and $3 for Students/Seniors. RHS is using a new ticketing service GoFan - Tickets are available online here. A link will also be available on our website. Please be sure to buy your tickets in advance. Friday is also Jr. Gaels Night.

In an effort to inform our community of all the great things going on in our district, we have created a Podcast. We would love for our families to subscribe, listen, and learn about all the great things offered in our school district.

"Preparing the children of today for tomorrow" is an elaborate venture. Through this podcast, members of our learning community will tell you all about a wide variety of programs, opportunities, and much much more. As a comprehensive public school district, we are committed to ensuring that each and every student is afforded learning experiences that will afford them a wide array of experiences that support their journey toward a fulfilling adult life.

The Roxbury School District has been selected as one of two distinguished ABLE in School Flagship Districts. Roxbury was selected because of our outstanding physical education programming and our commitment to health and wellness. As a flagship school, Roxbury is receiving a grant for the ABLE Framework and curriculum which focuses on social and emotional learning and adaptations to help all learners grow and foster relationships during and outside school. It is an "every learner matters" approach.

To help with the implementation, TNT Kid’s Fitness, Fargo, ND, will bring their consultants in August to train the PE and special needs educators on the software to implement the curriculum into the Unified PE Class time.

During the months of September and October to kick off the school year, Connor McGovern of the New York Jets will be visiting Eisenhower Middle School and Roxbury High School to support not only ABLE in School but inclusion through movement.

On September 12th, Connor McGovern and representatives from the New York Jets will be at Roxbury High School for ABLE To Move Day! The event is the vision sparked by the NFL's Play 60 initiative. Students From Roxbury's unified physical education classes will have the opportunity to compete alongside Connor in fun fitness and football activities!

We would like to restablish our Roxbury High School Parent Association. We are looking for parents/caregivers to assist in being a resource for our students and staff. Please complete this Google Form if you are interested. At the high school level, a parent organization is not nearly as time-consuming as it is at the elementary school level. Please consider helping us with this endeavor.

Also, we are in the process of planning Parent Academies for our families. These academies will focus on a variety of relevant topics. So, please keep a look out for invitations to these opportunities.

Roxbury High School will be administering the NJGPA re-test on October 10-13.

All 10th and 11th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMQST on October 11. We will share more specifics as we get closer to October.
