Leadership Message
This week is the 4th Sunday of Advent. We light the candle which symbolizes Peace. The "Angel’s Candle" reminding us of the message of the angels: “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men.”
This week many in our school were very busy with projects that will hopefully lead to those in need finding peace during this Advent season. Our leadership groups were very busy working on many social justice projects for our community.
Christmas cards were hand made for every student in the school. A healthy snack accompanied these cards. The smiles and joy from students as they received their gift was so heartwarming.
Food, toys and miscellaneous items were collected over the past two weeks from our families. The Tofield Food Bank was so appreciative of all the food that will be donated to them on Monday. I do know this will bring peace to those who need these items.
The Loonies for Lurana Shelter was extremely successful. With the addition of Break the Rules Day on Friday the school community raised an amazing $800.00 which will go towards 8 Baskets of Blessings for the Lurana Shelter bringing peace to many women and children that have no where else to turn. Congratulations to the Grade 1 class for raising the most money. They will get to participate in an extra gym class this week!
I am truly grateful to be part of such a loving, giving community. The generosity shown this week will certainly make the angels sing.
I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a safe, joyous holiday with your families.
Joy and Blessings,
Cathy Hinger
