Ukrainian Speaker
Friday morning our 8th graders and the 8th graders from Rock Valley community joined together having breakfast together and fellowship. After breakfast, the students were privileged to hear from Ukrainian refugee Makar tell his story. Makar shared how his life changed when the war in Ukraine started. Makar challenged the 8th graders to always trust in God's plan, no matter what you are facing. We want to thank Makar for sharing his story to us and for challenging us to always trust in God's plan. If you would like to listen to Makar's full presentation, it is on the Rock Valley Christian Facebook page.
Veterans Traveling Tribute
On Tuesday morning our students and staff were able to say "Thank you for your service" to our local veterans. Our 8th grade students greeted veterans and their family members at the door. The veterans were able to enjoy a time of fellowship in the cafeteria served by more of our 8th grade students. They then ventured to the music room where the 6th-8th grade band students played patriotic songs. After the band performed, they made their way down to hear 2nd-5th grade sing patriotic songs. After the students were done singing, they handed out thank you cards to our veterans. Once the cards were handed out, the veterans headed down to hear the preschool-1st grade say the pledge of allegiance. It was our honor to serve our veterans. We want to say thank you to all our veterans and their families for their service.
World Act of Kindness Day
On Monday our 6th grade class went around the community to recognize World Kindness Day. The students went to various businesses around Rock Valley, Rock Valley Community School, and The Netherlands Reformed School. Thank you to 6th grade class for contributing kindness to our community.
Northwest Iowa Honor Band
Two of our 8th grade students had the privilege of preforming with the Northwest Iowa Honor Band on Saturday, November 4. Congratulations to both Ashlee Koedam and Cameron Nibbelink.

Clip'n Cash
Even though the Clip’nCash program was started many years ago under a different title, the goal is still the same today. The goal then and now is to transform trash into money that will be used for various purposes at Rock Valley Christian School.
Since the beginning of this program, the General Mills Company has paid Rock Valley Christian School $23,773 through our school’s participation in the program!! In addition to the General Mills earnings, RVCS has earned money from various other companies.
And the best part is that YOU can help with transforming some trash into money with minimal effort!
Here’s how:
1. Best Choice-These products are available in our local supermarket. Every Best Choice product has a UPC code on it. If you save these UPC codes, Rock Valley Christian gets $30 for every 1000 codes. All you need to do is submit the code area, save it and when you have collected a number of codes, bring them to the Collection Bin located inside the front entrance of RVCS.
2. Country Hearth/Village Hearth-All products produced by Country Hearth/Village Hearth have a Proof of Purchase/UPC on the packaging. There are dotted lines showing you exactly what needs to be cut out. Save these Proof of Purchase/UPC codes and bring them to the Collection Bin. Rock Valley Christian gets $50 for every 1000 UPCs.
3. General Mills-Many grocery items have a Boxtops for Education logo on them. Do not save these logos! They are just to alert you to the fact that you are purchasing an item that has redemption value. Earning the cash for RVCS must be done on your phone! And it must be done within 2 weeks of purchase by scanning the receipt on your Boxtops for Education app on your phone.
4. Ink Jet Cartridge Recycling-Save those ink jet cartridges and bring them to the Collection Bin. Redemption prices vary. The cartridges will be packed and shipped to the recycler for redemption.
