Wildcat Weekly!
Wildcat Weekly!
Dear Wildcats,
Last week we surpassed the halfway point of the 2023-24 school year. On behalf of our entire school community, I wanted to thank you sincerely for being our partners in your child's educational journey. It seems just like yesterday that we were welcoming our students on their first day of school in September. We are proud of the progress we have seen to this point in the school year related to attendance numbers, student achievement, and the many programs and events that we have held to further bolster our positive school experiences for our students, their families, and the greater community. Our focus and mission in the second half of the year is to focus collectively on student success academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our PBSIS Team has begun a fundraiser called Penny Wars. Teachers will have a bucket outside of their classrooms for any students/families who wish to contribute. The money goes to our PBSIS Committee which serves our students and school in every way possible. Please consider donating! The winning class earns a pizza party!
Speaking of our PBSIS school initiatives and our amazing responsible, respectful, and safe students...the picture below represents all of our ROAR tickets that our students earned to this point of the year...AMAZING!!! This container is already half full. Each one of these tickets represents an act of kindness, respect, and awesome behavior. Keep it up! At the end of the year, we will be pulling names for really great prizes!
Our Food Service Department is once again sponsoring a 'Junior Chefs Challenge'. Budding chefs in grades 3-5 can submit their idea for a unique tortilla recipe and win a chance to compete at Toms River High School East to cook their creation. The winning entry will have their recipe featured on the school menu in May. Entry forms and additional information are available in the cafeteria. The deadline for entry is March 22.
We have kicked off our American Heart Association Challenge. We have exciting things planned this year to get us moving, helping others, and having fun. Get a head start by signing up today and get started on Finn’s Mission. Visit our school page at http://www2.heart.org/goto/walnutstreetschooltomsriver or download the AHA Schools app!
