~New Announcements~
Hangout Club Unified Track Meet
The Hangout Club is hosting a Unified Track Meet on Weds. 3/20! This event is open to all AGHS students both with and without disabilities! Events include Long Jump, Shot Put, the 100m Dash, and 4x 100 meter relay! We also need volunteers, please scan the QR code or see Mr. Reid in room 983 for a permission slip. Space is limited to 20 volunteers so first come first served!

Winter Blood Drive
The blood drive will take place on Thursday, February 22nd in the MPR. Please sign up to donate with Mr. Sligh in room 802 during break or lunch. Donors must be 16 years or older and may be required to have a permission slip to do
Work Permits
Attention all students that plan on working this year. Please submit a completed work permit request form to Mr. Coville ASAP, or email him at trevor.coville@lmusd.org. Anybody that needs their current permit extended can stop by Room 510, or email Mr. Coville as well.

Poetry Out Loud Competition
Congratulations to Nyjah Anaya for placing 3rd in the SLO County Poetry Out Loud Competition last Friday, 2/9.
AGHS Mock Trial:
Congratulations to the AG Mock Trial Team! This year our Mock Trial team placed third in the county at the mock trial competition held on the tenth floor of the Bells Hotel in San Luis. Individual awards were given to Emme Landers for Best Case Brief AND Best Courtroom Journalist, Kaiana Swords received a runner up award as a Courtroom Sketch artist. Adriana Rodriguez was recognized as a runner up for best prosecution attorney in SLO county, and Hailey Williams went undefeated in head to head competition and was recognized as SLO county's best pretrial attorney. Great job AGHS Mock Trial team!

~Counselor's Corner~
Need help with FAFSA? We will have a Cash for College workshop on our campus on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH from 4-7PM in our library. There will be trained staff available to help with completing the FAFSA/CADAA application which is due April 2, 2024. If you wish to opt out from completing the FAFSA application, you must complete this FORM. NOTE: It is mandatory to submit a FAFSA/CADAA application in order to access the Cuesta Promise (free 2 years) for students planning to attend Cuesta in the Fall of 2024.
Scheduling Talks: We are in the middle of scheduling season! We will be reviewing classes specific to each grade level and meeting with each student to review final requests. Look for information coming home with your students and a sheet for you to review and sign. Please remember that the schedules we make with students are not final and may be adjusted prior to the end of the year.
~Attendance~
Make Sure to Clear your Absences
Clear Absences by 4pm Tuesday, 2/27/24. Please make sure that the Attendance Office is informed of the reason for any still unverified absences for 1/29/24 - 02/23/24. After that date, we will not be able to make any changes.
College & Military Visits
Seniors and Juniors planning a college/military visit should stop by the Attendance Office to pick up an Excused Absence Request form ahead of their visit. If approved, up to two days may be excused. Visits that will last longer than two days would require a Short Term Independent Study Contract to excuse the absence.
