April 14, 2022
Dear BHS Families and Students
Please review.
- Tuesday, 4/12 was the first day of the 4th QT! Report card grades will be posted on the portal right after break. With Regents and other class final exams in June, we only have 8 weeks of classes, not 10! Keep up with your work and seek help if you need it from your teacher, counselor, or admin. Contact your teachers directly if you have any questions and check the SchooTool Parent Portal for grades.
- Door 20 Sign in/out procedure change after Spring Break!
- With the nice weather on the way and more students wanting to sign out during free periods, we will open DOOR 20 back up on a limited basis.
- Students may sign out and back in at DOOR 20 during closed campus periods 1-4 (remain on campus) and periods 5-7 (open campus).
- Door 18 is OPEN for FLEX ONLY.
- Early Release students will continue to sign out at the attendance office.
- After the break… what you can expect!
- The tent and tables are coming back and being set up during the break.
- The GYM and LOWER will be closed during FLEX for eating. Students are encouraged to eat outside.
- The upper gym will be open for basketball every day during FLEX.
- The WT room will be open 2x per cycle during FLEX.
- BHS was recently ranked #23 out of over 1500 schools in NYS for BEST Public High Schools. BHS was the ONLY school ranked from the central and western NY areas! Go Bruins!
- RG&E Gas Main Replacement Project
- A major gas line replacement project is starting just south of BHS on Winton Road and going to about Highland Avenue.
- It is set to begin over April break, 2022. RG&E tells us that most of the work in front of BHS will take place over the summer. However, there may be delays/detours if you come from the north on Winton Road to 12 Corners. Be aware!
Have a great Spring break!
T. Hall
