AEHS Weekly Newsletter
December 3, 2023
Good evening, Titans.
December is upon us!
Last week I shared that we are moving into the informative portion of the scheduling season. Please see the dates below. Also, while students are registering for SY24-25 classes on December 20, each student will meet individually with their counselor in January before we finalize course request for next year. I also shared last week that we will provide families with information prior to registration on December 20. That will be shared in separate communication dedicated solely to the registration process. In the interim, please see this week's newsletter below and have a great week!
Best,

TechneCS Guest Speaker Program (NEW)
Aanshi and Alyssa are high school students who are currently attending Poolesville High School. They are the founders of TechneCS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping middle and high school students explore the field of computer science and empowering them to use that information to create projects that have a positive impact on their community.
In December, TechneCS is hosting a guest speaker program. This will be a valuable opportunity to connect with industry professionals in a variety of fields and topics within computer science. Attendees will get the chance to discover cutting-edge technologies, and learn to navigate education and career in this space.
The program aims to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and innovation by exposing students to the forefront of technological advancements. By participating in the TechneCS Guest Speaker Program, students will not only gain exposure to the latest trends in computer science but also be empowered to channel that knowledge into impactful projects and real-world applications.
To register or learn more about the TechneCS Guest Speaker Program, please visit our website at technecs.org. If you have any questions or require further information, feel free to contact us at technecs101@gmail.com.
Thank you for considering our invitation, and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming Albert Einstein HS students to this exciting and enriching event.
Sincerely,
Aanshi and Alyssa

Career Advising Coach (REPEAT)
One aspect of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future is that Career Counseling Services (“Advising”) needs to be provided to students in grades 6-12. Similar services are provided to students regarding the college admissions process in each MCPS school. To that end, there will be a Career Advising Team at Albert Einstein HS to support the career aspect of this work, which will be lead by a designated Career Advising Coach.
I am happy to introduce you to Ms. Luciene Joseph, who is the Career Advising Coach assigned to Albert Einstein. Ms. Joseph comes to us with a number of years of experience with career counseling, and is working with our students in partnership with Worksource Montgomery. Ms. Joseph began with us on November 13, and through December, will be working at Einstein Monday-Wednesday. In January, Ms. Joseph will transition to working full-time at Albert Einstein, and half days every other Wednesday.
Ms. Joseph is currently work from the College & Career Center and in partnership with Mr. Trigo, our new CCIC, and counseling. We are very excited to have her here and bring this opportunity to our students. Please be on the lookout for future communications regarding college and career, and how Ms. Joseph will be supporting this work.
