All current parents and guardians of CPMS/Rachel Carson students are automatically members of the PTC.

Our events, programs, school support, and enthusiasm make up this vibrant volunteer community and are indeed, POWERED BY YOU.

Help Keep Cedar Park Awesome by joining our PTC Board for 23-24! Several of our current board members' students will be moving on to high school and are ready to help get new members up to speed and set up for success!

Participation on the board is a great way to support the school, stay connected to the principal and teachers, and model volunteerism! It is also a great way to serve for parents who may work during the school day and are not available to help during school hours.

Please consider joining the board in one of the following positions:

Secretary duties:

• Serves a one year term
• Keeps an accurate record of all business transacted at each PTC meeting
• Manages Cedar Park’s social media
• Creates a monthly PTC newsletter
• Administrator of Cedar Park PTC’s Google for Nonprofits account
• Responsible for domain & website renewal
• Updates website as necessary

Vice President:

• Serves a one year term
• Runs Board & community meetings in the President's absence
• Coordinates fundraising activities & reports progress to Board & community
• Ensures matching fund eligibility with Benevity and other organizations
• Ensures sponsors receive thank yous
• Serves on the audit committee

Volunteer Coordinator:

• Serves a one or two year term
  
• Can be shared between one to two parents
• Promotes & encourages volunteer activities, including managing the district volunteer software (training provided); sends out communication via software for volunteer opportunities
• Attends one BSD Parent Group Leadership training
• Acts as a liaison between the PTC and CPMS regarding volunteer needs
• Create and maintain volunteer badges as needed

Treasurer:

• Serves a one year term
• Receives, organizes receipts/invoices, and pays reimbursement requests
• Keeps an accurate record of income and expenditures
• Presents YTD numbers at Board & community meetings
• Ensures that the necessary tax, business, and insurance forms are up to date and filed
• Drafts annual budget (with President & Board input)
