Lunch/Recess Volunteers - Calling all parents, guardians, and grandparents
Last year, we had lots of volunteers for grades k-3 but continued to struggle to have people volunteer for grades 4 and 5. We are hoping that by asking for only one day, we can cover all grades. When we have volunteers, we can provide classroom teachers the time to meet together to collaborate on curriculum and lesson planning.
Please consider volunteering for a few sessions even if your child is not in that grade, it helps our teachers a lot!
Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Free Lunch and Breakfast
After much deliberation, the state legislature has approved funding for universal free school meals this school year and made universal free school meals permanent! Pending Governor Healey’s signature, Massachusetts is set to become the eighth state to make universal free meals permanent. This is a historical day for child nutrition and a reflection of the significance of school nutrition programs. Importantly, the cycle of uncertainty regarding universal free school meals is over as it is now codified into state law. This is a significant investment in student wellness and is supported by all three branches of state government.

Class Placement Information
Teacher placement for incoming kindergarten students and students new to Loring was mailed to families and not in Aspen. If you did not receive a mailing from the school with placement, please reach out to our front office and we can help you loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us or 978-579-0870.
The district sets up Aspen Family Portal accounts for new families (Kindergarten and new-to-Sudbury) each Fall. Families of new students will receive the Aspen Family Portal login information in the mail by the end of September.
Kindergarten Families: If you haven't received information about your kindergarten visit, please contact the front office at loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us.
Back To School Packets - Please Fill Them Out
Last year 100% of Loring Families completed their Back to School Packets before our first day of school, let's keep that tradition going!
Back to School Packets are live and should be filled out by families for each student that attended SPS last year. If your child is entering kindergarten or new to Sudbury, you have completed these forms during registration and do not need to complete the Back to School Packet until next year.
If you have not completed your Back to School Packet, please click here. We have some additional information on accessing Placement Information and Back to School Packets on our website.
If you are already familiar with accessing these resources in Follett Aspen, you can also access the login page directly here.
For most parents and guardians, your login name is the format firstname_lastname (example, mary_smith). If you have forgotten your password, please click on the "I forgot my password" link under the login area to start the process of getting back into the system. If you still cannot sign in, please reach out to your child's school front office.

Dismissal Changes During the School Year
Please call or email the office at loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us to let the office know of dismissal changes prior to 12 pm.
An email to the teacher is always welcome but it should not be the primary way to change your child's dismissal. A morning reminder to your child about their dismissal change is always helpful.
Before the school day starts, you can also call the absence line at 978-579-0870 and press 1 to report the absence giving a specific reason.
If your child is not at school and we have not received a call or email, we will contact you (and your emergency contacts). Please know that safety is our top priority.
