A Reflection from Dr. Mullenschlader
Happy Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception! Today, we celebrated Mass altogether in honor of this great feast day. Father spoke of the great gift of grace and how Mary stands as a symbol of the abundance that God desires to give us. What a blessed week we have had here. We had a visit from St. Nicholas on Tuesday and he left treats for the students and the teachers. At Mass on Tuesday, the students in grades kindergarten through fourth learned of the Christian symbolism that can be seen in the candy cane. Ask them about it. Tomorrow we get the opportunity to celebrate Mass altogether again. This time we will celebrate St. Juan Diego, such an important saint for the Latin American connection of our parish and community. On Monday, we will celebrate the feast of Our Lady Guadalupe with a prayer service led by our students under the guidance of Sra. Classen.
This week in STEM our students celebrated National Computer Science Education week. Each class was given several different options to practice coding and develop digital knowledge. The hallways are decorated with Advent-related projects that students have created in Art class. Also, our students in first grade have been celebrating Christmas around the world. They have learned about different cultures and how they celebrate Christmas. So much is going on in the school as prepare to welcome Jesus at Christmas. As the song goes, Stay Awake, be Ready for the Lord is coming soon!
