Girls Tennis Wins McGill-Toolen Invitational
Hewitt-Trussville Girls Tennis traveled to Mobile over the weekend and won the McGill-Toolen Invitational. The Huskies had a perfect 3-0 record for the event and are now 11-3 overall on the season.
HT opened with a 5-0 win in the quarterfinals against Daphne. In the semifinals, HT defeated St. Paul's 5-0. Finally, in the championship match, the Huskies beat Madison Central (MS) 9-0.

Quick Throws Second Consecutive No-Hitter in Baseball Victory

Riley Quick threw his second consecutive no-hitter as Hewitt-Trussville defeated Thompson 10-0 on Monday night. Quick tossed his first no-hitter of the season last week in a win over Mortimer Jordan, and was dominant again on Monday. Quick pitched five innings and struck out eight batters. Jack Ollis tripled and scored in the first inning to give the Huskies the lead. HT put the game away in the 4th inning as they plated six runs to extend the lead to 8-0.
The Huskies hit a pair of home runs Monday as Matt Miller and Brooks McRae both went deep. Ethan Duhon had two hits and two RBI's. Quick added a hit and a RBI. Baker Green and Carson Wideman each had a hit.
Coach Jeff Mauldin's team will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host Wetumpka. Tickets can be purchased via the link below:

Taylor Burt Picks up 300th Career Win

Hewitt-Trussville Softball defeated Oak Mountain 15-2 on Thursday in the first 7A Area 6 contest of the season. The Huskies are now 12-2-1 on the season. The win marked the 300th career victory for Head Coach Taylor Burt.
Riley Rudick homered and finished with two hits and two RBI's. Olivia Faggard had a double and a home run. Kenleigh Cahalan had three hits and three RBI's. Hannah Dorsett had a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Ana Henson was 3-4 with a double and two RBI's. Sara Phillips and Riley Tyree had two hits each.
The Huskies will continue 7A Area 6 play on Tuesday night when they travel to Spain Park.

Hewitt-Trussville Outdoor Track & Field traveled to Vestavia on Monday for the King of the Mountain event. The HT Boys finished in 1st place and the HT Girls finished in 2nd place. Select the link below for full results:

Boys Golf 2nd at Helena Invitational
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf placed 2nd out of 17 teams on Monday at the Helena Husky Invitational. HT finished just four shots behind the first place team. Stuart Dickson led the Huskies with a round of 73. Dickson placed 3rd in the individual standings. Clayton Healy fired a round of 74 which was good enough to tie for 4th individually. Gavin Isbell shot 76 for the third counting team score. Taylor Jones shot 81 to round out the team scoring.
The Huskies will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Twin Bridges for the Kickoff Classic.

Girls Golf 2nd at March Madness Event
Hewitt-Trussville Girls Golf finished tied for 2nd at the March Madness event at Hoover Country Club this week. A total of 22 teams played in the tournament. HT freshman Molly Davidson finished in 1st place in the individual competition out of 100 players. Davidson shot a 72 on the first day of competition and followed that up with a 68 on the second day of play. Her total of 140 was good enough to win by nine shots.
Kiersten Riggins shot 87 the first round and 83 the second round to place second on the team. The Huskies tied with Huntsville for second place in the event. HT will be in action again March 16-17 as they travel to Greystone Country Club for the Spain Park Invitational.

Girls Soccer Splits Area Contests

Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer is 1-1 in 7A Area 6 play after the first week of Area play. On Wednesday, the Huskies defeated Gadsden City 3-0. Jocelyn Davis opened the scoring for Coach Lauren Wooten's team as she found the back of the net off an assist from Julia Farris. The Huskies extended the lead to 2-0 later in the game as they scored off a corner kick. Finally, Mariela Delfin assisted Taylor Thomas for the last HT goal.
On Friday the Huskies fell to Vestavia 2-1. HT is now 11-3 overall on the season. Area play will continue on Friday March 18 when the Huskies host Spain Park. Tickets can be purchased via the link below:

Boys Soccer Splits Area Contests
HTHS Boys Soccer went 1-1 over the last week in the first two 7A Area 6 matches of the season. On Wednesday, the Huskies defeated Gadsden City 6-0. The HT defense was solid all night and Gavin Snyder recorded a shutout. Teague Edwards had a hat trick as he netted three goals. Edwards scored off a free kick twice, and was assisted once by Parker Briggs. Cason Cook scored off a header on an assist by Parker Briggs. For the night, Briggs recorded a goal off a free kick and had two assists.
Parker Green also added a goal off an assist from Teague Edwards.

Cason Cook: One goal

HTMS Girls Golf Wins
HTMS Girls Golf defeated Homewood by 47 shots on Monday afternoon. Savannah Kennedy led the way for the Huskies as she shot a round of 42. Ellie Kate Askins was the second low score as she shot a 51.
MS Tennis Sweeps Oak Mountain
The HTMS Boys' and Girls' Tennis teams had wins over Oak Mountain on Monday. The HT Girls won 9-0. Kate Armstrong, Ivy Tidwell, Riley Austin, Eden Christian, Lyla Hatley, and Avery Hatley all won in singles play. Kate Armstrong/Ivy Tidwell, Riley Austin/Eden Christian, and Lyla Hatley/Bailey Moates all won in doubles play.
The HT Boys won 8-1. Carter Jordan, Parker Lybrand, Kyle Jones, Paul Bethune, and Luke Stutsman all won in singles play. Carter Jordan/Kyle Jones, Parker Lybrand/Paul Bethune, and Levi Buckner/Luke Stutsman all won in doubles play.
