Purchase or Decline Protection Plan by MONDAY, Sept. 18th
District 196 offers an optional Protection Plan to families for $20 per iPad to cover the cost of potential theft and damage throughout the school year. The plan is FREE for students eligible for the Educational Benefits Program, but you MUST go to MyPaymentsPlus to "purchase" it. When you check-out, the $20 fee will be waived. It is recommended that parents and guardians complete the Educational Benefits application first. The Educational Benefits application is available at District196.org; select Services from the main menu, then Nutrition Services.
All families are asked to review and acknowledge the iPad Student User Agreement and either accept or decline the optional Protection Plan by Sept. 18, 2023. Until that date, the district will cover damages (not loss) to allow families time to complete the review and sign-up process. After Sept. 18, until the Protection Plan is accepted, the family is responsible for any costs associated with loss or damage of the iPad as defined in the Protection Plan details.
Families can accept the Protection Plan at any time throughout the school year by logging into their MyPaymentsPlus account, searching for “iPad” and selecting the desired option to accept or decline the protection plan. Both options ask to review and acknowledge the Student User Agreement. For directions on using MyPaymentsPlus or creating an account, go to District196.org, select Community from the main menu, then Family Resources. For assistance, families should contact their child’s school.

Fall Play Ticket Sales Open September 18th
A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy play written by William Shakespeare. The play is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular and is widely performed.
