Lincoln Elementary Newsletter
November 2023
Dear Parents,
Welcome to November!
Fall seemed to have been skipped this year and we went straight to Winter. I hope that we will see some warmer temperatures before Winter finally sets in. With that in mind, please make sure that your student is dressed appropriately for the weather. We only call for indoor recess when temperatures are below 20 degrees Fahrenheit or if it is raining. If you need any help with providing winter jackets, hats, or gloves please reach out to our Community School Liaison, Ms. Kristin - kguerrero@caldwellschools.org.
Please keep in mind that we do not have staff members on duty for morning drop off until 8:45. Students need to be with parents until staff members are on duty in the mornings.
We are celebrating Veterans Day on November 13 this year. We would like to extend a special invitation to our Veterans that live in our community to come and be recognized during our assembly. The assembly will be held at Lincoln Elementary’s Cafeteria from 10:25-11:15. Please reach out to the front office if you have any questions.
Families should have received an Income Survey Letter last week. This survey is very important to help secure funds for our Free and Reduced lunch program. We ask that you have this survey returned to school by Friday, November 3. Only one form per family is needed. Thank you for your support. If you have any questions, please contact the front office at 455-3321.
Family Literacy Night
Family Literacy Night is on November 9th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Come and join us for an “Under the Sea” adventure and “escape the school” activities. All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
College of Idaho's Legacy Program
We are in the full swing of the College of Idaho Basketball Team’s Legacy program. A flier has been included in this newsletter with information about this program and how students can earn free tickets to a C of I Basketball game on January 26.
Counselor's Corner:
This month in counseling lessons students are learning about feelings, flipping their lids, and coping skills! Ask your students what they learned with Mrs. Self.
This month we are having our Jog-a-thon to raise money for our kindness program. The Jog-a-thon will take place during your child's PE time on November 13th and 14th. Please expect the fundraising information in your child's backpack. We are excited to be able to continue doing Kindness Thursdays and would like to provide each child with a shirt, our goal is $2500.
