Hydrate Eyestone Week!
"The current recommendations for children is to drink their age in 8-ounce glasses until they reach the age of 8. Children 8 and older should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. If you have a 6 year old, he or she should be getting six 8-ounce glasses per day." (According to John Hopkins All Childrens)
With that being said, our Eyestone kids need reusable water bottles. We have kids that need your help. If your family is able, please bring a new reusable water bottle to school this coming week. With the temperature soaring (outside and inside North) these little ones need to stay hydrated. If the kids have a water bottle at their desk, they don't have to keep leaving class to refill paper cups.
Let's call this HYDRATE EYESTONE WEEK! Let's see how many water bottles we can collect.
Thank you for your support!
Lockdown Drill
Dear Eyestone families,
Next Wednesday, August 30th, students and staff will participate in a planned lockdown drill as part of our safety training and practices. During the drill, students and staff were directed to a safe location inside the building. Exterior and interior doors, windows, and access points are closed and locked.
Members of law enforcement observed and provided feedback about how we can continually improve and enhance our safety measures.
If your student experienced stress because of this drill, I encourage you to reach out to me, so we can work together to support them.
The safety of our students and our staff is a top priority in PSD. We will continue to work as a school community to engage with students, staff, parents and residents in ongoing safety and security practices in PSD.
Please help us to share the following call to action with your student(s): “See something, say something.” We always tell students that they can report suspicious behavior or rumors to an adult in our building. Kids and adults alike can also anonymously report any safety concerns through the Safe2Tell hotline (1-877-542-7233), through Safe2Tell’s phone app, or online at www.safe2tell.org.
If you need anything or have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at kbroadbelt@psdschools.org or 970-488-8603
.
Sincerely,
Kristin Broadbelt
