Will there be IB Diploma Exams in May?

五月的 IB考試是否舉行？

KAS was recently notified that, as things stand, we will be administering IB Exams in May. This decision was made after information was gathered from IB schools around the world, and our circumstances here indicate that KAS students will be able to sit for actual exams. In some parts of the world, this is not true. IB is making testing decisions on a school-by-school basis. IB exams are scheduled to occur between April 29th and May 21st. Be advised that students can not reschedule any IB exam.

KAS最近收到通知，照目前情況看來，我們將在五月舉行IB考試。這個決定是在收集了世界各地IB學校的情況後所做出的。我們的情況表明，KAS的學生是可以實際參加考試的。在世界上的其他地方，則不一定。IB會依照各校情況來決定考試決策。IB考試計畫於4/29至5/21之間舉行。請注意學生不能重新安排任何IB考試。

In order for students to practice for these exams, Mock Exams will be administered to 12th grade students March 5 - March 11. Besides providing practice, these exams are often used by teachers to calculate semester grades. Students have received the Mock Exam schedule and should be planning and studying accordingly. Precise IB Exam and AP Exam schedules will be released next week.

為了讓學生練習這些考試，我們將在3/5至3/11之間對12年級學生進行模擬考試。除了提供練習之外，這些考試還經常被教師用來計算學期成績。學生已經收到了模擬考試時間表，應該以此進行相應的學習計畫。確切的IB以及AP考試時間將在下週公布。

We are starting to receive news about early admissions decisions and the impact of test-optional policies at many U.S. universities. Universities are sharing statistics about record-breaking applications this cycle compared to the same time last year.
我們開始收到許多美國大學ED的結果和考試可選政策的影響的消息。與去年同期相比，大學在這段時間內收到的申請書統計已破了記錄。

New York University (NYU) for example just released data sharing they received over 100,000 applications for the first time ever. The University of California recently announced that the system received for fall 2021 admission the highest number of undergraduate applications in its history, even in the midst of a global pandemic. UC received a total of 249,855 applications, a 16.1 percent leap from the past year, from students who applied to at least one campus: 203,700 from freshman applicants and 46,155 from aspiring transfer students. Applications through CommonApp are up by at least 10% overall compared to the same time last year. UK and Canada schools are starting to release admissions information too.

As we look ahead, it is likely that schools will continue to be test-optional for the Class of 2022 for most universities. A complete, updated list is available at Fairtest.org.

For Seniors, admission offers continue to come in regularly! We are celebrating the exciting news for each and every student as results are known. Ivy League schools recently announced in a Joint Statement they will release decisions on April 6, 2021.

For Juniors, we are scheduling individual meetings with students. The priority is for students to develop a thoughtful list of universities and colleges. We will begin working on college essays and other parts of the application during regular advisory meetings.近來我們也都持續和11年級生們約個別談話時間，最主要的是讓他們建立一個初步的大學志願列表。我們將要利用advisory的時間開始進行論文和申請書的其它部份。
