The SHARK Alert

Happy Final Week of School!

There was so much happening last week, that the SHARK Alert wasn't finished in time for the usual Friday publication date. I apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused! Between classroom presentations, Step Up Day, 4th-Grade Celebrations, and a session in the dunk tank - it was a VERY busy week!!

Our final day of school will be on Tuesday (June 28th) and it is a HALF-DAY which means dismissal is at 11:00 am.

On Tuesday, families and friends of 4th-Grade students are invited to join the CES students and staff in saying "goodbye" to our 4th-Graders as they head off to the Middle School. Beginning at 10:45, CES students and staff will line the hallways of CES to "clap out" our 4th graders. The 4th-graders will take a final walk around our building and be led outdoors to the playground area where they will then walk on the path to the front of the school.

We need our community members out in full force to cheer our 4th-graders on as they walk the path. Feel free to bring signs and noise makers. Our students will decorate the walkways with chalk art. We hope this will be a special memory for our 4th-grade students who have been through so much these past few years!

• At the conclusion of the parade (in front of the Main Office) Grade 4 students will be dismissed.
• Those planning on riding the bus or going to afterschool care can return to the building.
• PLEASE UPDATE PICK-UP PATROL IF YOU PLAN ON HAVING YOUR 4TH-GRADER LEAVE WITH YOU FROM THE PARADE.

Any family that has siblings still needing to be dismissed should return to their car with their 4th-grader and get in the Parent Pick Up line as you normally would do for afternoon dismissal.

Before closing, I would once again like to express my deepest gratitude for the warm welcome I have received at Chatham Elementary School. As my first year as Principal of this amazing school comes to a close, I find myself as excited, if not more so, than I was a year ago when I accepted this position. I am so grateful to be able to work with such talented and experienced staff, welcoming families, and truly remarkable students! I wish you a happy and safe summer break and look forward to welcoming students and families back to school on Wednesday, August 31st for a Back-to-School Ice Cream Social!

A HUGE thank you to the 4th Grade Celebration Committee and all the volunteers for an AMAZING send-off party for our SHARKS!

And finally, THANK YOU to every member of our CES Community for your ongoing support! In another year of challenges, CES has had countless successes and we look forward to welcoming you all back in September for another FIN-tastic year of learning and FUN!
