All Souls Catholic School
Newsletter - March 7th, 2019
Each year, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and is always 46 days before Easter Sunday. Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) marked by repentance, fasting, reflection, and ultimately celebration. The 40-day period represents Christ’s time of temptation in the wilderness, where he fasted and where Satan tempted him. Lent asks believers to set aside a time each year for similar fasting, marking an intentional season of focus on Christ’s life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
It was really nice to see the whole school community celebrating Ash Wednesday with the parish community with our third graders leading us in prayer. I am so proud of our students who read the scriptures at Mass. They do such a great job. Thanks to Mrs. Mancinetti for preparing the students.
Congratulations to our Basketball Teams
Over the next couple of days we have four teams competing in the championship basketball games. We wish the teams and their coaches all the best. If you get a chance to go and watch the games, it will be great to see you there.

Congratulations to our 7th and 8th graders who participated in the Annual Archdiocese Academic Decathlon last Saturday. It was great to see parents at the event. Our students performed well. Well-done students.
Re-Enrollment in Progress
Have you re-enrolled your son or daughter for the next school year? This is the time to do so. The re-enrollment period is from March 1st to March 15th. If you re-enroll after March 15th you will incur a $50 late fee. It is important to have all re-enrollments completed by March 15th as we do have some students on waiting lists wishing to join our school community.

BOX TOPS
Box Tops for Education was started by General Mills in California back in 1996, after the company decided they wanted to create a program to help support education and benefit America’s schools. All Souls has benefitted from this program over the years, receiving sports equipment, microscopes, and a variety of other educational items.
You can help by clipping the Box Tops off approved products you already have in your pantry. You don't need to clip the actual product UPC — just the Box Tops logo will do. From frozen foods to produce and household cleaning products, there are literally hundreds of opportunities to help, and each Box Top is worth 10 cents. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up fast.
There are so many participating companies! Participating companies and product lines include General Mills, Green Giant, Totino's, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Ziploc, Hefty, Juicy Juice, Betty Crocker and many more. For a full list of eligible items check the Box Tops for Education website at https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn .
