Dr. Looney's Message
Greetings Summerour Families:
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are going to have a wonderful school year together. Middle school is a wonderful time of learning about yourself and learning about the world around you. The most important thing to remember is to enjoy the journey and to always be the best version of You!
At Summerour, we strongly believe in the connection between school and home. Families and teachers are partners in student success. As a parent, if you ever have any questions or wonderings, please do not hesitate to reach out. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service to our students and families.
As an IB School, we focus on making a difference in this world. The students who sit in our classrooms are ready to take on that challenge. We encourage our students to participate in clubs and activities, learn multiple languages, and find ways to show compassion and kindness in OUR community. OUR students are learning to think critically and examine different perspectives. OUR students are also learning that perseverance plays a key role in achieving future goals.
Together, we are family, and we will take steps to secure a brighter future for the students of Summerour. Thank you for your support, belief, and hard work to make this happen. Let's use this year to build the future we want for OUR children.
For OUR future,
Dr. Natalie Looney

Student Laptops - 1:1
We are excited to announce that GCPS is providing each student with a laptop to use at school. No more need for you to send your students' devices. We will begin checking out computers during the Meet Your Teacher event.
Students will be expected to manage their computer so that it remains in good working order and so that it is present at school each day. Our Tech Team is on hand at school to assist with issues as they arise.
My Payments Plus
GCPS uses My Payments Plus to sign off on all the beginning of the year paperwork. It's not just used to pay for school lunches, fees, and fines. At student registration you will need to sign off on a lot of the paperwork with simple clicks. This must be done through My Payments Plus.
- Digital Forms: Eliminate paperwork by completing forms and signing school documents online
- Meals & Autopay: Pay for meals, view cafeteria purchases, receive low balance alerts, or enroll in autopay
- Student Account Management: Gain 24/7 access to school payments & history for all your students in one place
- Products & Events: Browse products available for purchase and sign your student up for school events
Go to our Parent Resources page on the website and click on "Signing Docs & Making Payments" about 1/2 way down. You'll see a description and links for assistance.
Parent Center
Our Parent Center is located on our first floor, so it's easy to get to. Come check in at the front office, then use the Parent Center to volunteer, check-out resources, and get engaged!
More information is on our website, or you can reach out to Rosanna Carlson, our Parent Instructional Support Coordinator.
