PACE Parent Weekly News: For December 2022
"When parents play a positive role in their children's education, students do better."
Hello PACE Parent!
Our NWEA winter assessment window is next week, December 13 - 16.
NWEA is a set of tests called the Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP) that students in grades K-8 take each fall and spring. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade take MAP for primary grades tests in Reading and Math, while students in grades 2-8 take MAP tests in Reading, Language, and Math. These tests determine your child’s instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the listed subject areas.
Parents, you can help with the assessment process by ensuring that your child gets a good nights sleep each night, and a good breakfast each morning, and make sure that they are on-time to school and prepared for the day.
The 2nd Quarter Midterm Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week as well; Wednesday Dec. 14 and Thursday, December 15. Click the 2nd Quarter Midterm PTC Sign Up Genius Links, to schedule an appointment with your child's teachers. During the 2nd quarter conferences we are especially encouraging the parents of our 3rd grade meet with teachers and ask any questions you might have about the Read by Grade 3 Law. If you have received a special invitation from Mrs. Tucker, be sure to schedule some time to meet with her, she will be in room 103 with specific information about what this law means and how you can support your child's reading at home.
