Dear Parents / Carers,
This week we have seen some lovely writing in school with children working very hard to improve in this area. I have enjoyed reading their work and am amazed at their fabulous imaginations but also the attention to detail.
In the next few weeks, we will be restarting our class assemblies where we hope you will be able to join us in celebrating the work of each class. Dates can be found below.
Have a lovely week,
Karen Williams

Message from Head Pupils
This week has been full of surprises such as Clara M in year 3 who won the polar preet competition for Kirk Fenton. Clara won this by submitting a brilliant hand drawn picture of a rainbow penguin. We hope everyone has a lovely weekend and see you next week for some fabulous learning.
Head Pupil certificates went to Mollie H and Joseph E.

Governor News
A message somewhat delayed by the Christmas merriment; I wanted to express how much I had enjoyed watching the EYFS and Year 1 / Year 2 Nativity performances in 2022! A big thank you to all the children (and staff!) for really making me smile.
On a similar note I also attended the whole school festive trip to the Pantomime, which was organised superbly. It was fantastic for the school to arrange an event on this scale and something I am sure the children will remember for a long time to come.

Staff Thank You's
If anyone would like to say thank you to or has any positive comments for a member of staff then please complete and submit the form below.
If you are planning a January clear out - we can help you. We have arranged a Bags2School collection for Friday 3rd February. Leaflets will be sent home in bookbags with details of what is accepted - so keep a look out.
On the subject of clearing out, if you have any unwanted Christmas presents that you think would be good for raffle or tombola prizes - we'll happily take those. Drop us an email or send a message on Facebook and we can arrange collection.
Our aim this year is to raise as much money as possible to help the school purchase more Chromebooks for the children, and provide a covered play area for the EYFS playground. We have some great events in the pipeline for the coming terms, for both children and parents, and would be grateful of any support you can offer. You don't necessarily need to volunteer time (although that would be great) - if you work for a company who could help donate food, drink or party supplies donations like this go a long way in helping keep costs down and increase the funds we can raise for the school. If you you are able to help with donations for events please drop us an email friends@kf.starmat.uk.
