IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR PARENTS OF 6TH & 7TH GRADERS
Third quarter exams are scheduled this week - March 9th, 10th and 11th. We apologize for the way the calendar falls but encourage you to make sure your child studies for his/her exams.
PLEASE REMAIN ALERT AND AWARE
Parents,
Parents, please continue to pray for those involved in the tragic incident at Our Lady of Lourdes. But please allow me to take this opportunity to remind you that carline is not the time to let your guard down— please do not use your cell phones in carline; pets can be a distraction, please do not bring pets through the carline; please remember that there are people who walk throughout the campus, stay aware; place your car tags where they can be seen by staff (remove it only after your child is safely in the car); it is your responsibility to buckle your child securely before driving off.
And again, please pray for this child, the family, and all of those affected by this incident.
Thank you,
Christopher Collins, Principal
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MS. SUSAN IN THE OFFICE
Dear Parents, we have been seeing more than the usual number of students in the office who are forgetting their water bottles at home and not eating breakfast. We provide them with a water bottle and some crackers when they come to the office complaining of a stomach ache or headache because they haven’t had anything to eat or drink. In the last 2 weeks we have gone through 4 cases of water and several containers of crackers. We are always happy to provide the students with anything they need but it has become a habit for many students to rely on the office and not prepare for the day. We are seeing this mostly in the middle school grades.
Please remind your child to grab a water bottle and something to eat in the morning. The middle school students have a long morning before they go to lunch and need a good hearty breakfast. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We love your children as our own and want them to have a wonderful day at school.
Thank you for letting us take care of your children,
Susan Miller

CAN WE COUNT ON YOUR HELP?
CSAL GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS
Dear Parents of Girls and Boys Basketball Players:
The CSAL Girls Basketball Playoffs begin Tuesday, March 8, 2022. We will host games at SMM on Tuesday, March 8; Thursday, March 10; Monday, March 14; Wednesday, March 16; and Thursday, March 17. SMM is the host site and I am the Tournament Director. Our junior varsity team will represent the Northshore district in the tournament. Congratulations and play on our home court Tuesday, March 8 at 4:30 pm. Come cheer on the Lady Chargers.
As the host school we welcome schools from all over the Archdiocese of New Orleans. We enjoy an outstanding reputation and the schools look forward to playing at SMM every year. This is largely due to our parent and student volunteers who are cordial, gracious, and kind to our visitors, and to our housekeeping staff who keeps our gym in good, clean condition during the tournament. Teams also enjoy playing our teams because our players demonstrate good sportsmanship and Christian spirit.
As host school we are required to keep the clock and official score as well as provide concessions, and referees for every game every day. I have the referees scheduled but I really need help with concessions and the clock. Please let me know if you can help. One afternoon or even one hour would be a great help. I also could use some parent volunteers to pick up trash in the bleachers and around the gym after the games each night. Please inform me in advance of the days and times that you can help.
I appreciate all that you do for me, Coach Tammy, Coach Matt, Coach Clayton and the students. Thanks in advance and God Bless.
Coach Gay Knock

The fund raiser goal is $90,000 which is needed to get this capital improvement done.
