We are almost ready to begin another school year! To make it a "SPLASH," we are inviting you to join us for an open house at Horizon Monday, August 14th from 4:30-6 pm. Your family will get a chance to visit your child's upcoming classroom, meet their teacher, buy dinner, and earn up to 2 tickets to use at the dunk tank! The Horizon office will be open and our school health aide, Mrs. Post will be onsite to assist as well.
To support our back-to-school theme, "Dive Into Learning," your child has the opportunity to Dunk the Principals! PTO is renting a dunk tank that will be at Horizon during Welcome Back Night. Each student has the opportunity to earn 2 tickets as their chance to dunk either Mr. Melander or Mrs. Fadorsen, who will split time in the dunk tank throughout the evening.
Here is how students can earn their tickets:
1st Ticket - Bring in a list of books he/she read this summer and hand it to their teacher in the classroom when they visit. The teacher will give them their first ticket.
2nd Ticket - Parents will complete the 4 back-to-school forms at their child's desk and hand the packet to the teacher. The teacher will give them their second ticket.
RULES:
*Each Horizon student will have a MAXIMUM of two throws to dunk the principal in the tank.
*Only the Horizon student who earns the tickets may throw the ball. Other family members cannot take the student's throw.
*Lines by grade level will mark where a student will stand to throw the ball.
*Principals will split the time in the dunk tank. The dunk tank will close at 6 PM.
