Principal's Note
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As the holiday season begins, we are thrilled to announce an enriching journey of learning and celebration at our elementary school in the upcoming month! Over the next month, our students will embark on a cultural exploration, learning about a variety of holidays such as Thanksgiving, Hmong New Year, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Lunar New Year, Eid Al Fitr, Las Posadas, and Dia de Reyes. This diverse lineup promises to transform our classrooms into a vibrant tapestry of cultures and traditions, significantly enhancing our students' understanding of the world.
Here are the dates we plan to engage in the educational opportunities:
- 11.17 | Diwali Community Assembly
- 11.20 & 21 | Thanksgiving-themed lessons
- 12.7 | Hmong New Year Opportunity: Mrs. Lee will teach all our students about the Hmong New Year
- 12.21 | Holidays Around the World: We will learn about winter holidays, including Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Lunar New Year, Eid Al Fitr, Las Posadas, and Dia de Reyes
At Meadow View, we are committed to learning from all the holidays our students celebrate. That's why we are providing specific opportunities for all our students, in accordance with the Board's expectations outlined in Policy INDC. Feel free to reach out to me or your child's classroom teacher if you're interested in sharing your holiday. We are eager to hear from you and look forward to incorporating your special traditions into our holiday explorations. Let's make this season a memorable and educational experience for our children, filled with joy, learning, and community spiriti!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Un abrazo,
Mrs. Bell
