We are getting ready to start the 2022-23 school year. We hope that you are enjoying your summer and are as excited as we are to get the 2022-23 school year started. See below for the latest updates regarding 1st day of school, master agreements, class schedules and so much more. Our initial background features a photo grid from our 2022 senior graduation. What a great celebration! Thank you to all of the parents, teachers, office staff, district staff, and the incredible students! We can't wait to see what the next stage in their life brings as they prepare for college, the work force, or wherever life takes them! Principal's Message...
With the 2021-22 school year in the books, we are excited to get the 2022-23 school year going. First day of school officially begins on Tuesday, August 16th. Please check out our school website for the TK-12 Daily Schedule. Reminder that all students are required to have a Master Agreement (MA) meeting with their teachers along with Data Confirmation completed prior to the first day of school. Teachers are in process of scheduling the MA meetings if they have not already occurred.
The 21-22 school year was filled with lots of celebrations including CA Pivotal Practice, Mr. David and Mrs. McCourtney Teachers of the Year, Parent OC Top Virtual School, Full WASC accreditation with the maximum 6-year certification with 3 year mid review, not to mention successful graduations, promotions, and a return to some normalcy for us all. Our students did a great job earning lots of awards and accomplishments both in and out of the classroom. We are so proud of all of the great work that we all accomplished in a very challenging environment and are fired up for this coming year. All Student Action Item: Data Confirmation
Please take a moment to complete your data confirmation for your student. This is an annual requirement for all returning students and is where parents review/change contact information, select appropriate student authorizations, and review updated district materials. Click here for a link to the data confirmation which is done through your Aeries Parent Portal. As you move through the process, please make sure to populate "Record Type" in the contact screen as this may prevent you from moving forward in the process if it is left blank. (image below)
Elementary Information
Weekly Schedule: As mentioned above, our school starts on Tuesday, August 16th. Weekly schedules are available on our website or via these links. TK-2 3-5
Supply Pick up: All TK-5 students will be using the Math Expressions textbook as well as the Savvas Social Studies book. If you are new to TUSD, you will also be able to pick up your iPad. We will be hosting a curbside pick-up for all students to come and pick up their supplies on Monday, August 15th from 12 PM-2 PM.

Staff Updates: In case you didn't hear, Mrs. Holewinski and Mrs. Weldon will be leaving TC to work closer to their homes. We'll miss them both! and Mrs. Verrall is now a district Intervention teacher and Mrs. Quinn will be leaving us as a result of a decline in enrollment. We are so sad to see our awesome teachers go, but excited for them and their new adventures. Mrs. Maeda will teach K-2 and Mrs. McCourtney will teach 3-5.
Middle School Information
Weekly Schedule: Classes start on Tuesday, August 16th. Weekly schedules are available on our website or via this link. 6-8 The schedule will be unique for the first week to facilitate student orientation. Stay tuned for a detailed schedule from your teachers. There will be New Student Meet-up on Tuesday, 1:1 meetings for all students on Wednesday and Thursday with open office hours on Friday.
Binders, Books and iPad Pick up: There will be a drive thru pick up for binder reminders, books, and if you need an iPad on Monday, August 15th from 12 PM-2 PM at the K-8 site.
Staff Updates: We are excited to be welcoming back our awesome teachers Mrs. Dove and Ms. Paulson this year. We are sad to announce that Mrs. Gullo will be taking on a new challenge as an intervention teacher for Estock and Orchard Hills. Mrs. Dove will be taking our 6th and 7th graders, while Ms. Paulson will be teaching our 8th graders.

High School Information
Orientation Week Schedule: School officially starts on Tuesday, August 16th. Coursework will be available via Schoology. We are doing in-person school wide orientations by grade level.
9th/10th: Tuesday, Aug. 16th @ 10 am
11th: Wednesday, Aug. 17th @ 10 am
12th: Thursday, Aug. 18th @ 10 am
Weekly Class Schedules: We are in the process of finalizing weekly schedules and course instructional days. Stay tuned for more information on our school website, Schoology, and Aeries.
Master Agreements: If you have not had your master agreement, your advisory teachers will be reaching out this coming week. Students must have a signed Master Agreement before they can begin classes.
Back to School Night: High School Back to School Night for all families will be Thursday, August 18th from 5:30 - 6:15 pm. Please use this Meeting Link to attend.
Laptop Pick up: Please visit our TCHS office anytime beginning August 10th at 10 am to checkout your laptop if you do not have one currently.
Staff Updates: We are excited to announce that all of our amazing full time teachers will be back this year. We also welcome a new counselor Mrs. Wijnhamer. We are so excited to add Mrs. W to our staff and be able to bring back all of our awesome teachers.
Senior 1:1 Counselor Meetings: Our counselor, Mrs. Wijnhamer will be reaching out to all of our seniors to schedule 1:1 graduation meetings. If you'd like to get first dibs on meeting time, use this link to access her calendar. If not, she'll be in touch over the coming weeks.

Daily Engagement Attendance Incentive Winner Announced
Big Congratulations to Gavin! He won the Microsoft device from Data Impressions for doing a great job all year completing his work and being engaged. We did a random drawing of students who completed their work throughout the year to earn full attendance for the year. Congrats Gavin and a big Thank You to Data Impressions for their support of our students.

TUSD Resource Sora Summer Read
Sora Sweet Reads in an annual summer reading program designed for schools to encourage students to keep reading all year long. "Check out" the free collection of simultaneous use juvenile and young adult ebooks (and select audiobooks).
Login to Sora to access these and many any other great ebooks and audiobooks all summer long through Clever, TUSD Student Portal or soraapp.com using your TUSD Google login and password.
