April/May 2021
Note from Mrs. Schaefer...
Hello Garfield Families,
April came in beautifully this year. The trees, flowers, weather, have created such a great start to our last 9 weeks of school.
This month will be busy for all kids as we begin our last round of testing in grades K-5 and will be continuing it through the end of May. I am sure your child's teacher will be in touch with you as their testing day comes closer.
Be on the lookout for your student's grade card coming home on Wednesday the 7th.
We have many events this month and next, Garfield Braves will be busy!

National Drop Everything And Read Day
D.E.A.R. stands for "Drop Everything and Read," a national celebration of reading designed to remind families to make reading a priority activity in their lives.
National D.E.A.R. Day is celebrated every year on April 12th. That's the birthday of beloved author Beverly Cleary, whose characters Ramona and older sister Beezus are now favorites of a new generation of readers. On this day, families are encouraged to take at least 30 minutes to put aside all distractions and enjoy books together. What will you be reading?
