Election Information
Dear Dragon Community,
Lake Orion Community Schools educates over 7,000 students every day. We appreciate your involvement in supporting our mission of “empowering the Dragon community to achieve excellence” and encourage you to vote on the replacement of two millage proposals in the February 27, 2024 election.
- The first proposal is a replacement of the Non-Homestead Millage, which helps fund the day-to-day operating budget of the school district. This millage was originally approved by LOCS voters in 1994.
- The second proposal is the replacement of the Sinking Fund Millage, which is used to cover necessary school safety improvements and facility repairs. This millage was first approved by LOCS voters in 2016.
If you have any questions about the millage replacement proposals, please go to LakeOrionSchoools.org/SchoolElectionInformation or contact LOCS by email at communications@lok12.org or by phone at 248-693-5400.
To learn more, watch the recent conversation on ONTV’s “Orion Today” television show discussing the millage and answering questions.
Sincerely,
Ben Kirby, Superintendent

If you need help with scheduling a conference time through SchoolSoft please contact Beth Beebe at elizabeth.beebe@lok12.org.

The donation drive is running until March 1st and students can bring donation items to the main office. Donations can also be brought to parent-teacher conferences on February 29th.
LOHS Parent Group Donations Request
The LOHS Parent Group is looking for donations to help feed the LOHS staff before Parent Teacher Conferences start on Thursday, February 29. If you are able to donate any soft drinks, waters, baked goods, etc. please consider signing up on the Sign-UpGenius. We are also looking for parents to help set up and tear down the buffet in the staff lounge.

Free Tutoring
Dear LOHS Parents,
Lake Orion High School is extremely excited to announce a continuation of our free tutoring program. This program will allow your child to connect directly with LOHS staff in specific content areas (math, science, social studies, etc.) outside of normal school hours. These tutoring sessions are one hour and can take place either in person or virtually through Microsoft Teams (this is decided between the tutor and the student(s) in the group). This tutoring is intended as remediation as opposed to homework help; however, homework is often utilized to teach skills. As we do not have an inexhaustible number of tutors available, this program is on a first come, first serve basis.
To sign up your child, please fill out this form.
If you have additional questions, please contact Cathy Srock at Catherine.Srock@LOk12.org.
