Hello and welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Howe Public Schools! The Administration, Teachers, and Staff would like to invite our students and their parents to join us at Back To School Open House to learn more about the adventures awaiting your child during the 2017-18 school year.

In addition to our new website, we have added a school App available for both iOS and Android devices. Once you've downloaded the app on your device, enable push notifications in settings - this is the easiest way to receive updates right on your phone.

Parents & Students: We want to see those first day back to school photos! Tag description of photos with student's first name and grade level using #HPSLions on Facebook or Twitter and you just might see your child's photo on our Digital Sign on Hwy 59 and our school's website.

We would like to invite parents of our Howe Johnson O'Malley students to a brief orientation on the services the JOM program provides for our students. To be eligible for services through the Johnson O'Malley (JOM) program at Howe Public Schools, students must be enrolled in the district, and parents must:

• Provide the student's tribal membership card, and/or parent's card & child's state-issued birth certificate.
  

Once a child is verified by the JOM office staff, the following are services that the JOM program offers to Howe students. We will cover these services and share additional information about the 2017-18 Parent Committee meetings, etc.

• Educational Supplies ($20 Wal-Mart Card)
• Academic Incentives per Semester
• Fees/Registrations
• Cap and Gown Fees for Kdg, 8th Grade and HS
• Cultural Awareness Field Trips and In-School Activities and Programming

The Howe JOM Program was chosen as the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma's Exemplary Program for the 2016-17 school year. Please help us continue to improve our programs for our Native American students at Howe Public Schools. We hope you will be able to attend this orientation meeting. $20 school supply Wal-Mart gift cards are available for all verified Howe Johnson O' Malley Indian students (3 year olds - 12th grade) during Back To School Open House. Supply cards can be picked up at the Elementary or HS Office. A parent/guardian signature is required at time of pick-up and the student must be a verified JOM student. If your child has not received their Fall or Spring JOM Academic Incentives, you can also pick-up and sign for these at the same time. Spring Choctaw STAR awards will be available shortly after the school year begins.
