WEEK OF 11/13 - 11/17
Letter from MEB
I am thankful that this time next week, instead of reading a smore, we will all be home enjoying a 5-day weekend (or is it a two-day week)? I am looking forward to our boys coming home, messing up their rooms, forgetting to load (and unload the dishwasher) and bringing me lots of laundry to do. I am hoping I will be thankful I can scold them a bit for forgetting to turn off lights and leaving their shoes in the middle of the floor.
Most importantly, I hope that you find many things to be thankful for. Please know, we are thankful for you.
Take care,
MEB
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
HOW-TO VIDEOS FOR SKYWARD Q
Just a reminder: After entering your absence into Q, if you need a Sub, you MUST re-enter the absence into Red rover.
Also, there has been a frequent error when entering an absence into Q, “Insufficient balance.” If this happens just hit save twice and the absence should go through.
If you are taking a full day off, please make sure the Days column in Q says 1.0=full day , half day =0.5, and quarter day =0.25.
For any questions, please call Sierra Cortapassi at 444-1050

AVID Strategies of the Month
Last month's PLC check-ins gave us some great insight into how to assist you with implementing the five academic expectations. Based on this, the flyer has 3 more purposeful movement activities as well as some prompts to help you come up with quick write questions.
I also have created a document, linked here, that has a master list of purposeful movement strategies, an explanation of what they are, and their ranking on a scale of 1-3 for how much movement is required.
In next week's PD, I will give a model lesson on a non-academic topic. I will show you how the academic expectations fit together, we will model specific strategies, and I will address other strategies that could work as well.
As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!
