A Message from Principal Hann
Scorpion families,
This weekend, Desert Edge staff and students partnered with Wellspring and Purpose churches to make improvements to our Student Services Area. Our community partners and their many volunteers worked hard to repaint and refresh the College and Career Center and several student support offices. What a difference they made! We are so pleased with the hard work and dedication to help improve our school for our students. Thank you to all of our community members who joined us in this “Love Our Schools Day” event.
We are excited to invite you to a special Parent Workshop on Tuesday, October 24 at 4:00 pm in the Library. This workshop will provide an in-depth look at our school's gradebook system and how you can effectively monitor your child's progress. In addition, we will discuss our school's use of intervention time (Edge Extension) and how we are working to support student success. Please join us for this informative session to better assist your child in reaching their academic goals.
On Wednesday, October 25, we will be holding our annual Vibe ✔ Wellness Fair during both lunches in the Quad. This event focuses on promoting health and well-being among our students. There will be informative booths, activities, and resources related to physical and mental health. Please encourage your child to participate and learn more about making healthy choices.
Don’t miss the District College and Career Fair on Thursday, October 26 at Canyon View High School beginning at 5:30 pm. This event is an excellent opportunity for students to explore various educational and career paths. Representatives from colleges, universities, vocational schools, and local businesses will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. We encourage students and parents to attend this event together to gain insights into future possibilities.
Finally, our Cutting Edge Theater and Law & Public Safety and Student Government classes are partnering to create our first annual Scarefest on Saturday, October 28 from 5:00- 7:30 pm. We will have a Haunted House in the auditorium, candy booths and a movie in the Quad, and food trucks in the auditorium loop. It’ll be a Scary Good time!
We hope you take advantage of these opportunities to engage with the school and support your child's academic and personal growth. If you have any questions or need further information about any of these events, please reach out to the office. We look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events.
