Parent Teacher Club (PTC)
Welcome Back from the Parent Teacher Club. The PTC is excited to have kicked-off the new school year with a Welcome Back Panthers Yard Sign, Ice Cream treats to thank our nearly 100 teachers and staff, and sponsored the Open House BBQ to feed 1000 hungry Panthers. YOUR fundraising dollars help make these events happen. Thank you Aumsville family and friends for your continued support. To keep you all in the loop this year, the PTC is going to work hard in sharing the many activities and events with you so that you know how our funds are being used throughout the year. So far for September, we have spent $3,000.00 on the above mentioned activities. Stay tuned as we roll into October.
Events to come:
* Book Fair (Oct. 17 - Oct. 25)
* Fall Fundraiser (Oct. 24 - Nov. 4)
* Harvest Party (Oct. 28)
* Bike/Walk to School Day (Oct. 13)
If you would like to get involved join us for our next PTC meeting on Oct. 5th from 7 - 8 pm.
Attendance Matters
If children don't show up for school regularly, they miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers.
Preliminary data from a California study found that children who were chronically absent in kindergarten and 1st grade were far less likely to read proficiently at the end of 3rd grade.

A Parent's Guide to RULER
The RULER Tools
The RULER program focuses on four core tools. Students, staff, and parents should be familiar with these tools to use not only in the classroom, but also to life outside of the classroom.
Charter
Mood Meter
Meta-Moment
Blueprint
Charter
The Charter is the first piece of RULER that is introduced in the classroom. Its purpose is to create a positive culture and climate. It represents a collective agreed-upon norms for how everyone would like to be treated. There are three key questions to help guide this discussion and creation of this document.
1. How do we want to feel in school each day?
2. What will we do to have these feelings consistently and create a positive learning environment?
3. How will we prevent and manage conflict and unwanted feelings?
