Celebrating 60 Years of Education! June 7th Edition
A Message from the Principal
Dear Gayman Families,
Thank you! As this school year comes to an end and we reflect on the last ten months, it is startling to see the changes that we have experienced. Our school in June, is (thankfully) very different from our school in September. Yet, over the last ten months, one thing has remained consistent - your unwavering support. Thank you for your kindness!
On behalf of the Gayman Elementary School staff, we wish you and your family a summer filled with magical moments.
Sincerely,
Kelly Carter

Move Up Day
Students will not be assigned a specific teacher by that date. Instead students will meet all grade level teachers and learn about the highlights of what the 2022-2023 school year will hold for them. Our goal in this activity is to build excitement about the coming year and reduce anxiety for the next school year, as we head into the summer. We look forward to the upcoming school year!
Elementary Report Cards
Report cards will be posted in the Parent Portal on Wednesday, June 15th at 1:00PM. Final report cards can be accessed electronically using this LINK.
Class Placements 2022-2023
In the summer months, student placement is finalized. Considerable time and attention is given to create well-balanced class groupings that consider the social, academic, and emotional needs of all students.
As you know, all of our teachers are caring, capable, and highly qualified educators. Our job is to support our students by developing confident, resourceful individuals.
Just as in previous years, final class assignments are announced in early August. On Monday, August 1st at 8:00AM the 2022-2023 class lists will be announced via the Parent Portal. We look forward to the excitement that a new school year brings!
Required Health Examinations
Pennsylvania mandates the following health examinations:
- Physicals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 6 and 11
- Dentals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 3 and 7
Parents are urged to have physical and dental examinations completed by their family physician or dentist and submitted prior to October 15th of the year that they are due. Send health forms to Sara Hedges, our school nurse, at shedges@cbsd.org.

Mustang of the Day
Every day at Gayman Elementary School, one staff member is chosen at random to be on the ‘look out” for an exceptional child. This child will be selected as "Mustang of the Day" for exemplifying one of the five Gayman mustang character traits of respect, responsibility, kindness, cooperation, and perseverance. The message to our children is that citizenship matters everywhere and everyday.
This trimester 48 students were invited to the Principal’s Breakfast in June. Congratulations!
