Service Learning Day at SMS was nothing short of unreal!
Huge thanks to the Student Culture Committee!
All students at SMS celebrated their success on the State assessments by engaging in a service learning day. They enjoyed a combination of enjoyable activities intertwined with opportunities for community service. The diverse range of activities encompassed gardening, weeding, break-out rooms, soccer matches, recess games, nail painting, car washing, general cleanup duties, an exciting lost in the woods breakout room challenge, rubber stamping, kickball matches, chess matches, exploring the trails, fundraising for the drama club, planting flowers for local housing programs, spreading positive messages with chalk, and overall tidying up. The day culminated in a school-wide picnic, which was enhanced by Ronan's captivating performance of one of his original songs.
Students also participated in an activity with their advisory to learn more about service learning.
