To do what was done in a COVID environment, with Ministry of Education budgets and conditions was amazing to watch and be a part of. To then be on time and on budget was a credit to your planning, collaboration and mahi.
We were so impressed that everyone involved showed our school values while working at our school and on this project. Kia Māia - Be Courageous, Kia Manawanui - Have a Heart, Kia Kaha - Do Your Best, Kia Ora - Be Well.
E mihi ana mo to koutou mahi. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
celebrate the end of term 2 with us
We are excited to invite whānau to our upcoming end-of-term school assembly, which will take place next week on Wednesday 28 June starting at 9.15am at Northpoint Church.
The assembly will be a wonderful opportunity for our entire school community to come together and celebrate the achievements and growth of our students throughout the term.
This will also be an opportunity to farewell Whaea Rachel and Miss Sattler as a school (yes, bring tissues).
Following the assembly, we will celebrate with Manu Tukutuku Day. We will also be hosting a delicious sausage sizzle, where you can socialize with whānau.
Mid Year Reports
Learning Conferences
We are almost half way through the school year so it is also time to get students, teachers and whānau together to reflect on learning so far and think about goals for the rest of the year.
How does this work?
Every student, from every class, along with their parent(s)/caregiver(s), comes to meet with their child's teacher. Each meeting is for 15 minutes and the aim is to review how learning is going, reflect on progress, talk about hopes and goals for the rest of the year
This year our Learning Conferences will be held over two sessions:
Tuesday 25th July 2023
12.30pm - 8.00pm
Tuesday 1st August 2023
3.30pm -6.30pm
Bookings will be made via Hero's new booking feature so you can book using the Hero app. Bookings will open on Monday 26 June.
When bookings open, you will receive a notification in Hero so that you can book your time.
In the Hero app, you will see School Bookings in the main menu:

Health Education @ Puketapu
Our school is committed to delivering health and physical education programmes that apply best practice, comply with relevant guidelines and legislation, and are appropriate for our school community. We support the positive and holistic development and health of our students.
In Term 3, we will be consulting with our school community about how we should implement the health curriculum. This is a requirement that we must undertake every two years under the Education and Training Act 2020.
After we have consulted our community we will then:
- determine the health education needs of our students
- inform the school community about the content of the health curriculum
- prepare a draft statement
- give members of the school community an adequate opportunity to comment on the draft statement
- consider any comments received.
Until this consultation is completed we will put our Relationships & Sexuality Education which is part of the Health Education on hold.
Next term, our Health Education focus will be on Food & Nutrition which will be delivered by Life Education in Weeks 4 - 6 as well as integrated through our term Kaupapa (Learning Theme).

puke ariki community survey
NPDC have commissioned Tim Walker, an experienced strategic consultant in the cultural sector, to undertake a high-level strategic review of Puke Ariki.
Since the opening of Puke Ariki over 20 years ago, there has been a number of social, cultural, economic and environmental factors that have impacted on Puke Ariki and the dynamics of the community that it serves. This level of change continues and it is now seen as timely to undertake a high-level assessment of Puke Ariki as it is – and how it might develop.
Tim Walker wishes to gain a wide sample of community perspectives and views as he progresses this work.
