Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the new academic year. I hope that you have had a great summer with your families.
The children have settled in extremely well this week and seem very happy to be back with us and their friends. We have spent the last few days revisiting expectations and getting the children prepared for the year ahead. All our pupils have returned with exceptional attitudes to learning and school has been buzzing with happy children sharing how excited they are to be back in the classroom with their teachers and friends.
On Wednesday I delivered a welcome back assembly where we revisited our school rules, expectations and standards. The children looked wonderful in their new uniforms. In my last newsletter I wrote about our trust policy regarding uniform and earrings in particular. Where possible, all earrings must be removed for PE and other sporting events. This is for health and safety reasons. Only pupils who have had ears pierced recently may have them taped over for the 6 week period. Please ensure that any children wearing earrings can remove their earrings themselves for these sporting sessions. If they cannot, please do not wear them in PE days. Please also ensure that only small round studs are worn. All of the above is in line with trust policy.

Attendance
As you know, attendance is always a priority in school and I know you will support us with ensuring your children are in school as much as possible. All attendance, particularly persistent absentees and lateness will continue to be monitored closely. Any pupil with attendance below 90% will trigger attendance monitoring and face to face meetings will be instigated.
Attendance this week:
Overall: 94.9%
Year 1: 96.7%
Year 2: 95.6%
Year 3: 90.9 %
Year 4: 97.8%
Year 5: 94.4%
Year 6: 94%
Next week we welcome our youngest children into school. We are very excited about meeting the new cohort and we will do our utmost to ensure they settle in well.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and I look forward to catching up with you over the new week.
