Time is flying by on this end. We are finishing up week 6 of school and Report Card 1 will be published around Oct. 11. Please check your students grades in skyward or canvas. Please see the informative videos below on how to access IECHS grades through a parent canvas account and how to access college grades, with your student, in D2L.

If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your students advisory/family teacher. I am also available to help.

Open House was a HUGE success last week. We were finally able to put names to faces. IECHS is excited to build strong relationships with our parents and community. We look forward to our next big event in the Spring. More info. to come. [check out some of the pictures from open house below]

The "devious licks" Tik Tok challenge has become the newest fad for students. This is where the student destroys or steals school property and videos themselves as they do it.

Due to the high number of incidents and the rising costs associated with this challenge, any student that does this will be disciplined by the code of conduct and will be placed at the alternative campus and could lose their ECHS opportunity. Students will also be referred to NCISD Police as part of the consequences. Additionally, students will be held liable for the cost of the repairs.

We encourage parents to have a conversation with students that this behavior could be "life changing," especially if it means being removed from the IECHS program.

It is my continued hope that we do not have to deal with this but in the event that we do- everyone is NOW on the same page.

While we wait for the next school year to reinstate service learning, we are seeking places to add to our "service learning sites." Please contact Hanna Hollohazy [hhollohazy@newcaneyisd.org] if you own a business that our students can volunteer at starting the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you for being a part of something bigger than ourselves. We can't wait to get back to giving back to our community.
