BACKGROUND CHECK
Successful completion of the Ohio BCI and FBI background check and fingerprinting process is a fundamental component of becoming an approved coach at a school district in Ohio. ESC of Lorain County’s 123 at the ESC service covers all aspects of the background and fingerprinting process, as well as integrating with the Coaches’ Tool Chest, a program that aligns with the Ohio Department of Education’s required Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) for individuals who plan to direct, supervise or coach student athletics or physical activities. Fingerprinting must be scheduled in advance and conducted in person at the ESC of Lorain County.
COACHES' TOOL CHEST
The Coaches’ Tool Chest ensures sports coaches have secured the required permits to serve their student athletes.The ESC of Lorain County provides access to the Tool Chest at a discount of 10% off the $49 price. The services in the Tool Chest meet the legislated requirements for Lindsay’s Law, Concussions, First Aid, CPR and Coaching Fundamentals.
