What a fabulous week we have had within our Kāhui Ako o Kōhanga Moa / Inglewood Community of Learning. Monday we witnessed our fantastic, skilled students come together representing our Kāhui at our Kōhanga Moa Marae at a Powhiri. Our Chairperson Rumatiki, Kaumatua Rus Joseph and Kuia Kathy Patu where highly complimentary of our collective tamariki. Many, many thanks to Matua Kareena Kingi, Whaea Marcelle Messenger and Lorraine Hitchcock for initiating this idea and seeing it through to performance level. We were also very thankful to Inglewood High School who allowed us to have Daisha and Danielle for the day.

The hui was a gathering of all Across School Teachers and Within School Teachers from a number of Kāhui Ako around the country to share ideas and initiatives, led by Kathe Tawhiwhirangi from CORE Education

The house of the Moa was well represented by members from all schools that make up our Kāhui Ako o Kohanga Moa or Inglewood community of learning. Our kids and mārae welcomed other regional Kāhui Ako from Central Taranaki, Southern Taranaki, Rangitīkei, Fielding and Manawatū. The pōwhiri highlighted the strong relationship between the mārae and Kāhui Ako o Kohanga Moa with Kathy Patu on Karanga and both myself and Rua Joseph on the paepae. Our own Paul Adams was the spokesman for the manuhiri or visitors. All up a great day on the mārae, Tīhei mouri ora

Thank you to Norfolk and Waitoriki Schools for bringing us all together yesterday at our first ever, whole school (primary) Athletics event at TET Inglewood. The day was full of event participation, collaboration, competition and collective desire of coming together as a village.

There were many highlights including Mr Frost, Mrs Krook at the discus where Brayden Neilson gained , Reef Ward and Jamari Hayward 2= and Luke Phillips 3rd in the Y8 Boys discus event.

Many thanks for the parents who have assisted Whaea Kirst and Mr Clint Frost today in taking our kids through to the Ki o Rahi tourney today. We have yet to find out how they didh however here are some pics for you to enjoy.

One more sleep - we are all looking forward to seeing you there. There will be light nibbles and a cuppa available, raffles for sale as well as awesome festive cheer. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some of that shopping done at a local venue. The tireless work of our ParentLink Committee will be very evident on the evening. Many, many thanks to you all, especially Mrs Kirsty Leslie-Eliis who has been coordinating our small, yet highly loyal and committed committee with regard to the organisation around this event. We would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Rebecca Farquhar for driving this initiative over the former years and handing over to Kirsty and the team this year - thank you Rebecca, your work has been appreciated.

We would love our school families to help contribute to supper for the night market on Friday 22 November. The funds raised from this event will support the upgrade of the junior playground.

Intermediates Team families to bring pre-cooked savouries eg mini savouries, pizza, sausage rolls.

Senior Team families to bring sweet - eg slice and cake.

Middle and Junior Team families to bring sandwich fillings; eggs, sliced ham, beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc. Bread will be provided by the ParentLink.

Please ensure your donations are into your respective teams Friday morning.

We also require parent assistance with food and serving on the night. Please email or call the office if you are able to help out.

Please check your child's bag for these as they will continue to be awarded at Team and School Assemblies. It is important you celebrate with your child as they reach REACH Milestones.

We are aiming to give these out (weather permitting) next Monday at our Full School Assembly as we had to postpone our scheduled one for toady due to weather. Thank you in advance for your patience.

This week we welcome Leah Theobald to Inglewood Primary.

Pippa Sutton - For always putting in super effort, always being polite and respectful and for being a team player.

We are fortunate to experience the Taranaki Tu Mai event here in Inglewood this year. There are eight Taranaki iwi coming together from around the country and overseas to compete in Softball, Kapa Haka and other events.

The two venues for the fun filled competitive day are Inglewood Primary and Inglewood High School. The event starts around 10:00am and goes through to 3:30pm. We here at Inglewood Primary will be having our Mega Slide, and Pool in operation.

We are inviting anyone who would like to register their interest in having a car boot stall (outside only) to email office@inglewood.school.nz. We will also be sending plates home to fill for a cake stall. If anyone is able to assist with the running and organisation of this day, please ring school 7568040, we would gratefully accept your assistance.

As we come to the end of the year we like to ensure we have all the details of your child’s achievements over the year. If your child has competed at national level in any sporting or cultural field, we want to know. This is especially important when considering nominations for awards. We cannot act if we do not know. Send a list of your child’s achievements to the office, including the grade or placing, the date/s and the event or competition. Or email office@inglewood.school.nz. Thank you.

School Absence: If your child is absent from school for any reason, please leave a message on the school answer phone or use the School App. Please state name and reason why the child is away. Thank you.

Sports Uniforms: Please check your cupboards, under beds, drawers etc for any sports uniforms that belong to the school office. We have a lot not returned. Thank you

School Accounts: Please ensure all accounts are brought up to date by the end of the term.

Currently teams have been looking at entertainment and organisation for next year. We would love to have donations of any games, especially from year 5-7 families to supply the classrooms. Some of the games include Monopoly, Uno, Othello, Draughts/Checkers, battleships etc. Perhaps family or extended families no longer use some of these and are happy to send them along to school.

Flower Donations: Yes it’s that time again. We would love any of the following in good condition at school on the morning of Thursday 5 December. Please name any buckets you bring. We would love any of the following: Clivia, Bird of Paradise, frangipani, Hydrangeas, Alstroemeria, Hibiscus, ladder fern, palm leaves.

For Sale 1996 Kubota L4300 Tractor, with cab and air conditioner,
approx. 7600 hours, turf tyres, 4wd and manual transmission.

2008 1 Trimax procut series 3 mower (double).

These two items have been used over the last 10 years to mow the school
grounds of the 6 local Inglewood Primary Schools and have been
maintained regularly.

They are sold on an as is where is basis and can be viewed at Inglewood
Primary School between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm. Please phone the
Inglewood Primary School Office first.

All offers are to be put in writing and sent to the Mowing Group
administrator Fiona Mace at macefam@xtra.co.nz before 12 December 2019.

Thought about feeding our pigs Marmite & Toast? You have a new scrap bin from the council that would be handy for you to bring along when you are walking your child/children to school. Wow farm life and experiences at our door.

We will readily take these scraps.
