Honor Roll Celebration
We had a great parent participation at lunch last week to celebrate our honor roll students. We probably had 100 parents on campus who also brought an incredible selection of food for their students. This was a new event for us and it was a huge success. Thank you!
7th Grade Field Trip to SDSU
Our 7th graders are headed to SDSU for a campus tour and a women's basketball game SDSU vs New Mexico. Please be sure that your student is equipped to walk in the rain. We will cut the walking tour short if it is pouring rain, but students should be prepared to get wet. Umbrellas, jackets with hoods, and sneakers are recommended. Students should also pack a lunch unless they have made arrangements with the cafeteria. Students will be allowed to purchase items at concessions, but time will be limited.
Kona Ice this week
Kona Ice has been moved to Thursday, February 8 due to the Field Trip on Wednesday. Kona Ice accepts cash and Apple Pay. A portion of the proceeds go to purchase PE equipment.
Scholastic Book Fair
There’s no book fair like a Scholastic Book Fair! It starts with a choice: What do I want to read? And since being empowered to choose their own books is a milestone opportunity to identify and express their own voice, kids also leave the Book Fair as bolder, prouder, and stronger individuals. Sign your child up with ewallet by going to Scholastic Book Fairs, finding you child's school (De Portola) and follow the guide. It's a great way for your child not to worry about losing their cash.
Shop your Scholastic Book Fair this week Feb. 5 to Feb. 9
