Caldwell Schools Board Report
Update from Zone 5 Trustee Marisela Pesina
January 2024
The Caldwell School District Board of Trustees is introducing their Trustee update. This update is intended to provide information on Board decisions, as well as school and community events.
Madam Chair Marisela Pesina
As a lifelong Caldwell resident, I have been involved in community service, in various capacities, my entire adult life. I have served on a variety of Boards including the Caldwell Housing Authority and the St. Luke’s West Treasure Valley Community Board. I currently serve on the Community Council of Idaho Board. I have worked full-time for local title companies for the past twenty years. I love Caldwell and have raised my two children, Miguel and Lucero, here. My passion is to advocate for the best education for all students in the District. I am excited to serve on the school board and want to ensure that all students and patrons have access to high-quality educational opportunities.
ANNUAL ORGANIZATION MEETING
Each year, Idaho School Boards hold an Annual Meeting, as required by law, to elect officers and other required business. This meeting allows School Boards to Elect Board Officers such as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Trustees nominated Marisela Pesina as Chair and Trustee Travis Manning as Vice Chair of the Board. Trustees also nominated Manuel Godina as Treasurer and Keely Cheney as Board Clerk.
Board Members approved their regular meetings for the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. They also identified dates and times for board work sessions. Trustees Manuel Godina, Travis Manning, and Andrew Butler were also sworn-in as newly elected Board Members. They will serve a four-year term.
