Middle School Information
CAASPP Testing Update: What a week for our middle school students! We are in the middle of the testing season and we are fortunate to have so many involved families that are helping us make sure that students are prepared to take the tests. We appreciate your efforts in ensuring that your middle schooler has a healthy meal and arrives at class on time for testing. This week 90% of our 6th-8th graders were able to successfully finish their state testing for language arts with 45% of them coming in person. In addition to the state testing for language arts, our 7th graders worked to complete the Physical Fitness Test while our 8th graders also had to complete the California Science Test. Next week all grades will be taking the state test for math. Please be sure to review the testing schedule provided by your child's teacher.
Special thanks to our PTA for sponsoring our testing snack cart. It has been quite a hit with our middle school students during their in-person testing days. Thank you to our middle school parents who have signed up to be members of our PTA for helping make this donation possible! We appreciate you!
If any of our middle school parents would like to make additional donations to the snack cart during our final week of testing, you are welcome to do so. (Healthy snacks are always welcome! I also hear our middle schoolers would love to get some Hot Cheetos and Takis after testing!)
8th Grade Program: 8th-grade students have been invited to participate in the Tilly's Life Center (TLC) Virtual Program. Tilly’s Life Center (TLC) is a youth-focused, 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization aimed at empowering all teens with a positive mindset and enabling them to effectively cope with crisis, adversity, and tough decisions. TLC's mission is to inspire today’s youth to reach their full potential as productive, kind, happy, and responsible individuals. 8th grade parents, please check your email from an update from Mr. Fineberg with additional details.
