Greetings Tiger Families!

This week, our Group A students bundled up for some chilly, rainy weather, our Group B students sweated in the summer-like San Diego heat and our distance learners experienced it all from inside their homes! While our students may all be experiencing different types of weather, our hope is that they are all experiencing the same positive learning experience here at LGAE!

RE: Physical Activity and COVID-19

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We want to share with you some important information from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) regarding COVID-19 positive cases in students and physical activity.

According to the AAP, students who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past six months should obtain medical clearance from their pediatricians prior to returning to physical activity, at school or elsewhere. At school, this applies to physical activities including, but not limited to, physical education class, sports, marching band, and JROTC.

Medical clearance is a recommended safeguard, but is not a guarantee against adverse outcomes, serious conditions, or future health problems. To learn more, please visit the AAP’s Interim Guidance on Returning to Sports and Physical Activity.
